Hori to Release PS5 Drum Controller for Taiko no Tatsujin: Rhythm Festival 1

Original Article: Taiko no Tatsujin: Rhythm Festival – the latest version of Bandai Namco’s arcade beat-‘em-up [Not that kind of beat-‘em-up – Ed] – is coming to PS5 from 7th November, following an extended period of Nintendo Switch exclusivity. This version of the game will support 120fps gameplay on Sony’s system, assuming you have a compatible television. There’ll also be “platform exclusive collaboration songs”, but we’re still awaiting confirmation on what those include.

The game itself features over 70 songs across a variety of genres, including pop, anime, and more. You can also upgrade the selection of music to way over 700 songs if you subscribe to the Taiko Music Pass. And if you pre-order you’ll get five extra songs from Bandai Namco’s history, including Eat ‘Em Up from Ridge Racer Type 4 and The Arrow Was Shot from Tales of the Abyss.

Furthermore, the digital exclusive Setlist Edition will include three additional song packs, including the Anime Songs Collection, the Pop Collection, and the Vocaloid Songs Collection. This will add a total of 32 extra songs to the title.

However, we’re curious if a physical version with the series’ all-important drum peripheral will be available. Obviously the game’s a ton more fun when played with the appropriate hardware, so we’ll check with Bandai Namco to find out if a version of that will be released for the PS5 alongside the game.
