Disney Dreamlight Valley is about as close as you can get to Animal Crossing on PS5 right now, but Floatopia looks even closer. The game, announced by NetEase during Gamescom Opening Night Live, promises all of the “beloved” elements of life simulation games: farming, fishing, logging, and decorating your dream home. It’s got a kind of Pop Mart aesthetic, which you’ll already know whether you like or not.
“Imagine a world where superpowers are just a phone call away,” the press release reads. “In this fantastical realm, the most sought-after superpowers are quickly reserved, leaving only the seemingly ‘useless’ powers behind. You play a character who, by a twist of fate, joins forces with others possessing these overlooked superpowers. Together, you embark on a whimsical and joyous adventure.”
You’ll be sailing a floating island to different realms, all with their own unique cultures, styles, and themes. It’s here you’ll be able to do “countless things or simply do nothing at all”. As you’d expect from a game of this style, you’ll be spending most of your time collecting items and materials to decorate and personalise your experience with. It sounds like you can play online with others or solo on your own – whatever you prefer, there are options available.
To be honest, we’re surprised more developers haven’t tried to capitalise on the success of Animal Crossing sooner, so this project makes a lot of sense. There’s no date attached just yet, however.

So I guess with this one and Palworld, Nintendo derivatives are officially a trend now….
It looks interesting, and it seems the devs are trying to mix it up so it feels more unique rather then a straight up Animal Crossing-like
It’s so cute! I wish we had a release date…
I thought this was the "Hello Kitty" Animal Crossing game when the trailer started. Is PS5 getting that game, b/c I think that may be closer to AC than this. Though not by much.
An, no Hello Kitty on PS5 until 2025 so this one may have a chance.
Ok, what's the Nintendo fan going to smash this time.
@somnambulance Don't forget Foamstars. Although most of us try to forget
Dondoko Island though
Made by Chinese developer, well known with their handphone games with f2p and micro transaction behind it.
Nice try, but I will not consider that game.
The game itself already screaming f2p when you have to register first.
This actually looks really good. I'm gonna keep an eye on it
