Yes, it’s a shame about the dragon quest games but I’m sure they’ll be back.

Dragon quest 11 echoes of an elusive age and the evil within are 2 excellent video games.i got both games on physical disc.every month games getting pull from psplus extra.it doesn't make sense to subscribe to it.at least with psplus essential you can keep your game.and video games gets cheaper now.on ebay or on psn.word up son

Jesus. The games seem to be going at a faster rate then the get added.

Last 2 months they have taken better games out and gave us worse options

I don't even cry since my Dragon Quest Builders 2 PS4 is physical version so I can continue the game happily.
Also, I don't like game subscription service as you cannot even owned the games permanently.

At least the list is smaller this month

When I started Dragon Quest XIS I had this fear they would remove it soon. I already got the plat trophy almost 1 year ago. they took their time to axe it, at least.

I wanted to play Gotham Knights too, but I believe it will come to Essentials sooner or later.

Having had plus for almost a year now. I think I don't like having that looming shadow of games being cut and in general of being on a time limit until the sub passes, i would rather just buy these and feel better knowing they're rotting in my backlog instead😅

I already downloaded like 4 games to try. I might squeeze in 1 of the DQ spin offs. But I also think I'm getting started on KH melody of memories since SE games seem to be leaving by series. KH is all that's left i think

Is it me but they don't seem to give you much time to play games, don't they realise not everyone had free time unless your kids. I mean they have had games on here for adults etc horror games and they don't seem to be on for long

I played DQXI a year or two back so that seems like a lot of time for those who wanted to play it to get it done. LBP3 is a surprising one. Maybe not worth it without the Multiplayer? Odd choice regardless but that's why you buy games instead.

I don't get why the old first party games like LBP3 are being taken off. Surely this is an easy value add right?

Unless no one is playing them at all and it takes up server space?

Builders 2 or Heroes 1 would be the spin off recommendations.

@Judal27 SE seem to be removing games 2 years after added. There was a big FF batch added at the Asia launch of the service in May 2022 and that was removed from all regions in May 2024. The big DQ batch was added in October 2022 and now being removed in October 2024.

The KH batch was added in November 2022 so it's a safe guess it'll be removed in November 2024.

@Alexface the servers are down I think, which likely means that hardly anyones playing them, as sharing your levels was the main focus of the lbp series.

I don't mind them removing games after a year or two but I've noticed that the games leaving aren't being replaced like for like quality wise.

Removing lbp3 is weird, I know the servers are down but you can still play the game solo or couch coop.

@playstation1995 if i finish a game on the subscription and there's a physical version and I think I'd like to replay that game again, there's a high chance I'll buy the physical game at some point. Even that new game the Plucky Squire, if I absolutely love it then I'll buy the game.

Got rid of all of those Star Ocean games this month and DQ next month and it doesn’t seem like they’ve been adding a lot of JRPG to replace them. At least not that I can recall having just signed up for Extra 2 weeks ago.

Guess this is Sony’s way of celebrating the 1 year anniversary of that $35 Extra price hike from $100 to $135. 🤑

Well given the state of LBP's servers (all dead) then I suppose it could go.
Either that or Sony could get their fingers out of their orifices and boot them up or transfer the content to a working server? But where are the $$$ in that, eh?

And just like that, physical games just got better... again.
I will 100% become a retro gamer if future consoles require an account/online connection to play a game.. I can totally see Sony do this.

It may sound strange, but I kinda like the time limit these subscriptions give us to finish games. I've been putting off Gotham Knights for so long, and now that I have a month to beat it, I have to lock in and get it done. Good timing, too, since I recently played through all 4 Arkham games on my Steam Deck OLED.

For those who haven't played them yet, i suggest Dragon Quest 11 & The Evil Within. I own those on disc, though, so no loss for me.

I already have most of the games here so no loss for me 🤷🏾‍♀️ frustrating for others who won't be able to play these in time

@thefourfoldroot1 If I do manage to get to them, I was thinking of builders 1 and heroes 1. Since the sequels for both seem more readily available to buy

@Grumblevolcano gives me like a few months to play thru all my favorite songs then and see the ending. Maybe even get the platinum if its easy to do 😭

I don't know what's going on. A lot of great games are being removed every month and barely few good ones are being added!!!

It looks like Sony wants to push people away from Extra and Premium!!!

I’d skip the other DQ games and go straight to Builders. The 2nd one in particular is absolute class.

I think I’m done with plus now. It’s not so much that it’s a bad service….it isn’t. I don’t have that much time to play so usually end up not playing that much on it.

It’s better to buy the games I 100% want to play.

For retro the list is too small anyway so will just use emulation on series s.

@FinneasGH I enjoyed DQB1 much more, even though DQB2 had better village system. DQB2 is always holding your hand and it's annoying

Sony is going to slowly remove almost all of there first party games off Plus...watch.

Man dragon quest heroes was a lot better than I thought it was gonna be but man the ps3 version kinda sucked 😅

@Alexface You are right. First party games should never leave the service to be honest, especially old ones like that. The only reason should be because of a licensing issue obviously, like what happens on Game Pass with the Forza games.

Was about to be like "wth, wasn't Gotham Knights just added like 5-6 months ago?!?!"

Then I checked, and it was last October, so about a year. In fact, I think maybe Dragon Quest XI was also October, so maybe they're keeping certain games on for a year.

Also, time is f'n weird man.

@get2sammyb I think the issue with Sony is more that they don't telegraph departures that well - sometimes with less than a month's notice. It's hard to plan your games when you don't know what's going.
