Synduality: Echo of Ada, the game portion of Bandai Namco’s big cross-media push – which is already an anime on Disney Plus, of course – will launch on 23rd January, kickstarting a potentially crazy year for PS5. Available for $39.99, the online extraction shooter will offer seven days of Early Access for anyone who pre-orders.
There’ll also be Deluxe ($69.99) and Ultimate ($99.99) editions available. They will include:
- Deluxe Edition
- a Deluxe Drifter Pass voucher, a MAGUS school uniform outfit, and a MAGUS remake ticket.
- Ultimate Edition
- an Ultimate Drifter Pass voucher, a Mystere ticket, two MAGUS school uniform outfits, and a MAGUS remake ticket.
If you’re not sure what to expect from the PvPvE extraction shooter, here’s an overview: “Rise from the underground to a surface world infested with hostile Enders, toxic rains, and other enemies, as you fight to loot for resources. Ride your CRADLECOFFIN, cooperate with your Magus, and stay alert around other players. One false move is all it takes to lose both your mecha and precious supplies, left to be scavenged by the remaining survivors.”

Thanks for the reminder the anime is out! Not a fan of the pvpve extraction stuff, so I'll probably stick to the non-game portion
Has cross-media ever worked in the modern age? Surely not to the extent that Pokemon did back in the 90s anyway.
They went really hard into that singular body type design for the robots. I'm not really a fan of playing as a mechanical jelly bean. Looks goofy as hell.
The gameplay looks fun and interesting. I might be in the minority here but I'd prefer it if they yeeted the floating humans in the trash and rather give us more customisable/personalised mechs. 🤷♂️
One of the most unappealing mech designs ever.
Isn't Disney plus the place where you send anime to die?
The thing about a cross-media plan is you have to make a good show and a good game.
I'm not convinced a mediocre anime is going to bring a big crowd to your extraction shooter
I don't mind the common, typical 'round' (for a lack of better word) robot design but something about these are just unappealing.
The funny thing about Synduality Noir is that the Anime is actually pretty good. I need to finish the second part but the anime and character designs are cool.
The game is kind of a bit underwhelming. If it were following the anime it might actually be a bit better, but I know it's a cross media thing so their are probably reasons for it.
I do recommend the anime to people that like mechs, cool characters and a bit of romance on the side.
@tameshiyaku That's the general sentiment for many reasons. Netflix could maybe be seen that way too. Not sure of if any of their exclusive anime has made it to home video thus far, which is my biggest gripe. I like owning my favorites on Blu-Ray.
