One of PSVR2's best sports titles, C-Smash VRS, will soon be playable without virtual reality on PS5. Called C-Smash VRS New Dimension, this version of the game puts it in a third-person view, letting you enjoy its minimalist, sci-fi take on racket sports on your television. It's set for release on 26th September, but you won't need to wait until then to try it out.
A free playable demo is now available from the PS Store. Weighing in at about 812 MB, PS5 users can give this techno-squash title a whack before committing to a full purchase. The demo allows you to get acquainted with how it plays via a tutorial, and afterwards you can play the Time Attack mode, trying to destroy as many blocks as you can within a time limit.
Interestingly, the full release will be cross-compatible with the PSVR2 version, meaning PS5 players will be able to match up with PSVR2 users in multiplayer. Additionally, if you already own the PSVR2 game, you'll be able to update it to the New Dimension version for free, allowing you to play both in and out of virtual reality.

Can’t imagine it will be anywhere near as fun without being able to see in three dimensions and have one to one movement.
@thefourfoldroot1 To be fair, the original Dreamcast game is awesome, so I think it'll be good fun. But I take your point!
@get2sammyb Agreed i still play the Dreamcast version in "pancake" mode lol
@get2sammyb
Fair, but lots of games I enjoyed in pancake mode in the past I really can’t now due to getting used to being in my games. Astro Bot is a case in point unfortunately, I keep trying to love it, and can see how I would have enjoyed it massively in the past, but there is always a big bit missing. Same with Resident Evil. Same with Gran Turismo. Can only think it will be the same with this.
I finally got to try PS VR2 a few weeks ago, and I enjoyed this game the most of the half dozen demos I played. But it definitely required the largest play area because you need to really swing your arms and reach for the ball at times.
I do love watching concert videos on mute with only closed captioning.
PSVR2 ruined Rez for me in non VR. I can't imagine playing C-Smash for long without VR.
