In sad news for fans of Hideo Kojima's schtick, it appears that the faithful remake, Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, will not be "a Hideo Kojima game." By that, we mean the grandiose, somewhat narcissistic title card fans have come to expect at the game's opening will now instead read "based on Metal Gear Solid 3," which doesn't really hit the same.
Word comes to us by way of GamesRadar+, who have been keeping tabs on the Metal Gear Production Hotline series, and in the second episode, producer Noriaki Okamura explains. While the team has done its utmost to retain the spirit of the original, one notable exception will be the removal of the Kojima title card. Okamura says there is nothing sinister to this and is, in fact, established Konami precedent:
"It's always been the case that games Mr Kojima didn't personally direct don't have 'a Hideo Kojima game'. So for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, we decided it just made sense to follow that precedent."

So there you have it. Will you miss the title card for "a Hideo Kojima game" in Metal Gear Solid Delta? Think back fondly to the way things used to be in the comments section below.

Just ... why? i don't get it
> In sad news for fans of Hideo Kojima's schtick
Not really. I bet Hideo himself wouldn't want his name on this remake, conjured by Konami without his involvement, and neither do the "fans of his schtick"
@Petto
Because Kojima didn't direct it. Makes perfect sense. With movies its the same. It only says "A Quentin Tarantino film" when he actually directed it, not if he only produced it. That title card is reserved for the Director, nobody else.
Just like the Resident Evil 4 Remake is not getting a "A Shinji Mikami game" title card or FF VII Remake is not getting a "A Yoshinori Kitase game" card (despite him producing it).
Enough with the fake Kojima hype.
Whether the title card is there or not, the entire Metal Gear franchise would not exist without Hideo Kojima.
@Petto because he didn't direct it? Do you want "comment written by Petto" on a comment that you did not write yourself?

@Octaslasher Give push some slack, it's a slow news day, they had Concord rise and fall and PS5 "six hundred ninety nine US dollars" pro run their news cycle and are forgotten by all so we're back to hell divers and kojima rumors for the next year.
@NEStalgia
lol what ? Where did I ever criticise the article ? I just told Petto why that title card has been rightfully removed from the Remake. maybe read first next time ?
@Netret0120 So ? Neither would Final Fantasy without Sakaguchi or Resident Evil without Mikami. I don't see their names in the credits for FF XVI or RE Village.
Just wanted to say I appreciate the writers here. Thanks.

It's non issue but as long he got his name in the credits it should be fine
@Octaslasher ah I thought you were criticizing push for the fake kojima hype, my bad
"Narcissistic" man gimme a break they been doing that for film for decades and nobody bats an eye
Wouldn't surprise me if Kojima isn't credited at all.
Why even have the “Based on Metal Gear Solid 3”? Do other remakes say they are based on previous games?
Is this meant to be a sly jab at Kojima? A needless taunt? Pettiness? Why risk annoying a fanbase that may still admire him? Or this just the media making mountains out of mole hills for clicks?
It’s true it doesn’t need to be announced as a Hideo Kojima game, as he isn’t involved in making it, but it would be right to credit him somewhere for helping create the characters and writing the story.
It is his game though???
Kojima doesn't involved with the remake. So it's normal his name will not be used. But it doesn't hurt him if he gets credits at post end credits.
But again, it's Konami...i heard the old president who fired Kojima already retired and the new guy is the reason why Konami making games again including those collection. But i'm not sure how far they've changed with the new president.
I believe they already confirmed he will be mentioned in the credits if I remember correctly. So no harm done.
@Kienda I think because it is not called MGS3: Delta. Just MGS Delta.
Imagine if all those MGS: Survive players got confused.
I love MG, but seeing „a Hideo Kojima game” pop up at the start of every mission in MGS5 was downright obnoxious. This is a remake that he wasn’t involved in so I think Konami played it the right way.
@Netret0120 Let's not forget Tomakzu Fukushima's contributions now
Not a big fan of his but this is pretty disgusting even by Konami’s now standards. It’s his game beat for beat with a lick of paint.
As expected. This is a remake. But Kojima is mentioned in the credits anyway.
@Octaslasher On one hand, I see your point; on the other had, if someone decided to take a Tarantino film and made it animated by painting over the original film and still use all the voice work and music, it’s still technically the film Tarantino directed, but with the addition of an art director.
Not surprising but i had a feeling the hideo kojima game would not be there.word up son
Ah, so it's going to be *****. Good to know!
@Netret0120 it wouldnt exist without the movies and books kojima watched to repurpose into the games. kojima fanboys need to accept that he wanted a new generation of developers to take the reins of the franchise going as far back as mgs3. this remake happening without his involvement is more in line with what he wanted than what the fans want.
Oh, I guess push square wants us all to be outraged by something again, oh yeah, so very outraged, yawn.
@evasdf But is it a remake from MGS 3 that is made by Kojima as long as the man is credited then that is enough. But I'm certain Kojima won't have a issue so the Kojima fans should not either. And for me the man is a legend indeed. The first time I played MGS on the PS1 it became a part of my gaming experience and made the PS1 my favorite gens.
Sacrilege…
Is what I wanted to say but for some reason the site won’t let me post just that, so I have to add this post-comment explanation which now detracts from my initial statement.
Is that screenshot from in game or cut scene? let the rabid dogs take a dirt nap and collaborate to make a new tactical espionage action game.
@NEStalgia have nothing to add, just wanna say this joke caught me offgaurd. Good stuff.

Seing "Hideo Kojima" 900 times before the end of the opening sequence is tiring. Ok the guy loves himself way too much, but he doesn't need to showcase himself publicly like this
