Nintendo DS Soccer Strategy RPG Getting PS5, PS4 Remake in 2026 1

Legendary Japanese developer LEVEL-5 will remake the original game in its iconic soccer strategy RPG Inazuma Eleven for PS5 and PS4 in 2026. The game, named Inazuma Eleven RE, was announced alongside a delay to the series’ PlayStation debut, Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road. That title is no longer due in 2024, and will now launch in June 2025.

First, president and CEO Akihiro Hino’s commented on the remake, as transcribed by Gematsu: “We will remake the first Inazuma Eleven game. It retells Mamoru Endo’s first story with various new features. To ensure not only fans, but also new players can enjoy it, we’re greatly improving accessibility. Get ready for Inazuma Eleven‘s return with stunning new visuals! We expect to release the game in 2026.”

There’s an announcement trailer embedded above.

Hino went on to explain that, in an effort to deliver “high quality content”, it’s made the difficult decision to delay Victory Road, which received a free open beta on PlayStation platforms earlier this year.

“We know many players ear eagerly waiting, but to deliver high-quality content, and a system that offers long-term playability, we’re putting all our effort into creating the ultimate Inazuma. We kindly ask for a bit more of your patience. We will also incorporate a lot of feedback from Inazuma Post to ensure we will meet our players’ expectations. We deeply apologise to all fans for keeping you waiting.”

LEVEL-5 went on to introduce some new systems in the game, including the Commander Mode, which transforms the series’ traditional arcade gameplay into a menu-style tactics affair. It also revealed Bond Town, a kind of hub for your Victory Road experience, where you’ll be able to create an avatar and display all of your accomplishments. You’ll even be able to hang out with friends here and schedule soccer games as well as play minigames.

There’s tons of Inazuma Eleven to look forward to, then, but as with today’s DECAPOLICE announcement – we’re still waiting for LEVEL-5’s many projects to actually release before we can say the veteran developer is genuinely back.
