Balatro, the hit roguelike card game, has just received another free update. Developer LocalThunk and publisher Playstack have announced and released the Friends of Jimbo 2 update, bringing a second round of cosmetic crossovers with other titles.
Available now as a free game update on all platforms, you can now customise your decks with face cards featuring characters from Cyberpunk 2077, Stardew Valley, The Binding of Isaac, and Slay the Spire. You can see how they all look in the above video.
They join the other games appearing as face cards from the previous Friends of Jimbo pack, which brought us The Witcher, Vampire Survivors, Dave the Diver, and Among Us.
These are purely cosmetic, and don't affect the gameplay in any way, but they're a neat freebie that let you jazz up your cards with some popular franchises.
Will you be using any of these crossover cards as you play Balatro? Reveal your hand in the comments section below.

The last batch fit my tastes a lot better, personally, but keep ‘em coming.
Last run i got right to the end and missed the 300,000 blind by 10,000 gutted man 🤨
I got caught up in the hype and picked the game up and played for about 30-40 mins and gave up. I may give it another go after the update but I think this game is not for me.
@Jrs1 Yeah, I ran up against a 300,000 blind as a “very large blind” challenge on my boss blind yesterday and didn’t even get close. I was just past Ante 8. I had such a good run going too and so it was a real letdown. I’m still having a lot of fun with the game but I’m seriously doubting that I’ll ever get good enough to get a score that high.
@Th3solution Haha same, think i was ante 8 and level 20, scared i wont get the right mix of jokers again, brilliant game though, the hype was real.
I really liked the game but I'm simply too stupid to get to the later levels or coming close to the platinum.
@Enigk Give it a try. As soon as you discover more Jokers it starts to be interesting. Especially those, who can be constantly upgraded to increase multiplier.
@Jrs1 @Th3solution you guys just need to keep it up as you'll unlock more jokers as you play and you'll just naturally get luckier in some runs. You will definitely get millions of score if you just keep playing
@zhoont @Jrs1 I’m getting a feel for the tactics you can take to get higher scores. I’m trying to unlearn some of the instincts that are natural with normal 5 card draw poker. Better hands don’t always mean more chips, depending on how things are set up. The way the jokers, hand levels, and card buffs all interact is the most important thing.
My best run was when I just happened to get a bunch of jokers that had perks for playing face cards. Then I just started to accumulate buffed face cards in those packets and through tarot cards to further enhance the jokers and just kept cashing in on two pair or flushes that had plenty of face cards. I was blowing away small and medium blinds in 1-2 hands until I got to that boss blind of 300K. 😞
@Th3solution need to invest in + multiplier combined with x multiplier. Once you get a joker with like x2.5 and you get a nice base mult you're gonna snowball high scores
Some good tips there folks 👍
@Jrs1 @zhoont sounds good — I will definitely keep that in mind this weekend as I will probably pour a bunch of hours into the game. There’s one Joker I have access to where you get x3 multiplier every 6 hands. I have been passing on that but maybe I need to try my luck with that and time it to occur during boss blinds if possible. 🤔
@Th3solution yeah that's a pretty clutch one, and you understand how to use it already
