Hazelight Studios, developer of the co-op platformer It Takes Two, has announced the game has now sold over 20 million copies.

The news comes via social posts as the game reaches this impressive milestone:

Studio founder Josef Fares says the figure is "beyond my wildest dreams".

Published by EA Originals, It Takes Two released in 2021 to critical acclaim. It tells the story of a struggling couple on the verge of divorce, whose daughter wishes for things to improve — turning her parents into toys and forcing them to overcome their differences.

Playable only in two-player co-op, the game has players working together in numerous ingenious ways, with the gameplay changing things up as the adventure progresses. It's a super varied and fun experience, and has clearly resonated with a lot of people.

We do wonder how many of those 20 million reached the infamous Cutie the Elephant scene, which you can read more about in our exclusive interview with Fares.

Are you among the 20 million who've bought and played It Takes Two? Tell us in the comments section below.
