Argonaut Games is bringing back the cult classic PS1 platformer Croc: Legend of the Gobbos with a remaster on PS5 and PS4, complete with various mod cons you'd expect. We now know this will also include Trophies, as confirmed on the developer's social media.
The studio has announced a set of 20 Trophies/achievements for the remaster, going so far as to reveal the names of each of them and even showing off what a handful of them will entail. Here's the full list as we know it so far:
- Freedom!
- Leave No Gobbo Behind
- Bonus Level!
- Feeble by Name...
- Gloves Off
- Down to Earth
- On Ice
- With a Splash
- A Prickly Affair
- Burst the Balloon
- Dante's Inferno
- Smash the Sentinel
- Free Them All!
- A Puzzling Find
- Crystal Collector
- Pacifist
- Empty Pockets
- Party Animal
- Challenge Accepted
- Untouchable!
In the above video, Argonaut shows off three of the Trophies. The first, Freedom!, is unlocked by rescuing your first Gobbo locked inside a cage — a pretty straightforward one. However, the next two are more interesting; Pacifist has you completing five levels without defeating a single enemy, while Empty Pockets requires you finish five levels without collecting any crystals.
Trophies like this, that challenge you with curbing your usual habits and playing the game in new ways, are always appreciated. If you know Croc like the back of your hand, you may have to ditch some burned-in instincts to gather Trophies like these.
As for the rest of the list, many of them are fairly self-explanatory, though we're interested to know whether there are any more that'll challenge long-time fans. It'll likely be a pretty breezy path to collect them all, but we're down for some more Trophies that make us play levels in interesting ways.
A Platinum Trophy is not confirmed, but games without one are pretty rare these days, so we expect we'll be able to earn our top gong in the remaster. Are you going to gather all the Trophies in Croc: Legend of the Gobbos? Butt slam the comments section below.

I am so ready to add this platinum to my list!
Yeah I really hope there's a platinum for this. Either way I'm actually really looking forward to it though
Croc has finally been remastered. Love it when something the fans have been throwing pitchfork mob riots over for years and years finally comes to fruition and we can even get a PLATINUM trophy for it! Yazooo!!!
Wow what a classic! Have a PS1 copy on the shelf. I’ll be giving this a run for sure
The most potent way to suck the fun out of a beloved game - add a digital participation trinket checklist.
Zzz...
I do love me some Croc. Always reminded me of a reptilian Lara Croft with his little brown back pack.
(This is my 10,000th comment! 🎉🎉🎉)
Ha nice one man! Bring out the bunting 🥂
I want a release date.
Gex trilogy has gone AWOL too
Yeah have to agree with the guy above. This is not my idea of a good time at all. I still own the original 2 games anyway so I'll stick with those.
Have they confirmed a physical release at all?
I really want to support this and the Soul Reaver 1&2 Remaster but I'm trying to get physical copies if possible.
@MrPeanutbutterz You don't have to go for trophies though, they're completely optional extra challenges lol
I'm dying to play this. Hopefully it sells well and we get a remaster of the sequel as well.
Is this digital only? Can't find it anywhere to pre-order! Can't even find it on PSN....
Ooooh I’ll be getting this day one whether they release it digitally first and a second time physically as well if they release the remaster that way.
I don’t always go for the platinum often for games but I certainly will for Croc
@Majin_Deicide
They haven’t announced anything about how they are releasing the game yet.
Hoping they do physical and digital day one but if they’ll do digital first then physical.
The Soul Reaver remaster will get a physical version about eight months after digital release like TR 1-3 Remastered did
