After years of online server issues relating to hackers, it has been confirmed the PS4 version of LittleBigPlanet 3 will be permanently removed from the PS Store on 31st October 2024. All its DLC will be taken offline on the same day, though you can guarantee yourself access to the game beyond the expiry date as long as you buy the game before it's gone. It's currently listed for £15.99 / $19.99 on the PS Store.
In a statement posted on Twitter, the @LittleBigPlanet account shared: "After 10 years of playing, creating, and sharing content in LittleBigPlanet 3, the game and our entire range of LittleBigPlanet DLC will be removed from the PlayStation Store on October 31st 2024." The profile clarifies in a follow-up post that anyone who has downloaded the game via PS Plus will continue to receive access also.
"This is a friendly heads-up that if anyone in the community or any newcomers still wish to own a digital copy of LittleBigPlanet 3 or any LittleBigPlanet DLC currently available for purchase — this is your last chance to do so," the message concludes. Of course, physical copies will still be available from second-hand retailers.
The game has had to battle hackers affecting its online components for a number of years now, which eventually led to the servers being taken offline earlier this year. At the time, it was said: "Due to ongoing technical issues which resulted in the LittleBigPlanet 3 servers for PS4 being taken offline temporarily in January 2024, the decision has been made to keep the servers offline indefinitely. All online services including access to other players' creations for LittleBigPlanet 3 are no longer available." This meant players could only play user-created content already downloaded to their console.
LittleBigPlanet 3 is currently available on PS Plus Extra, but it's set to leave next week on 15th October 2024. Will you be grabbing a digital copy this month to beat the removal? Let us know in the comments below.

This is everything that is wrong with current Fony Sony.
Servers have been dead since the start of the year and were taken down just after Media Molecule uploaded all their objects, textures and so on for public consumption.
Total **** up.
Have very fond memories of this series from way back in 09 I think. Search out a level called dr greenthumb lol. Me and my mates made it one night drunk and disorderly 👊
Wasn’t the hacker some incel who was salty about the lack of support?
Shame to see it go, the series offered a ton of fun. LBP3 really had it rough with the constant server hacking.
They should mark it to a dollar. In all honesty lbp3 is the worse in the series. Shame all those user created levels are gone.
@AgentGuapo
Such an easy way to discredit someone. Just call them an incel lol.
Awww man. I miss LBP
I imagine moderating the created content is quite the task - I've heard it's got quite a reputation for 'PDF' content 😬
What the?! This is pretty random.
@McTwist …sorry, are you actually somehow defending the person(s) who disrupted the online component of this game?
@sanderson72 Fony Sony lmao that’s a great nick.
@dskatter you’d be surprised the lengths people go to defend degens. (Though I usually assume innocent ignorance on some comments).
I wonder if Sony have something planned for the IP? Sumo Digital are believed to be doing a PS5 exclusive and they did do LBP 3 and Sackboy so it's possible.
A discounted price would be nice before it's delisted. Hasn't featured in a sale for over 6 months.
@McTwist Their actions already discredited them. When you act like an incel people are going to call you an incel. Some people deserve to be shamed.
@AdamNovice didn't the leak say they new sumo game is open world?
TBH, preferred LBP 1 & 2 ('Uncle Jalapenos Boom Town' being a particular favourite level, especially in manic 4-player mode!)
Perhaps Media Molecule added an extra layer of magic dust over those? Of course those servers are long dead and the first two LBP games are permanently stuck on the PS3.
Ugh. My daughter is currently playing it. Luckily, I snagged it a long time ago.
But why? Why delist the game? Doesn’t make much sense to me
@McTwist To be fair, they were an incel.
@Americansamurai1 Not sure on that one but Sackboy was a step into a more 3D plain so maybe it could be a open world LBP game. We shall see.
Such a pity. The series never really lived up to its potential for me (the jump physics were much too floaty), but sad to see it go this way.
Mega yikes. It is a super bad look for a first-party platform holder to pull one of their own games from their own service. Sony isn't the only one to do this, but it's always seriously bad when it happens.
@dskatter No. He isn't defending the hacker. He is objecting to your use of terminology.
Buy dem physical copies up
I think its kinda sad that Sackboy's legacy has kinda been left behind because now there is no modern way to play any of the actual LBP games easily, and while Sackboy A Big Adventure is pretty good (been playing through it throughout the year), it's nothing like what Sackboy was here to originally do, so it's sad he is kinda just a little platformer dude, when is meant to represent absolute creativity
@MrPeanutbutterz aye same here. Really thought the platformer was a sign of what’s to come but I guess it was just a false flag. I really would love some continuation of that at the very least.
This game was a letdown,a buggy mess on launch
Why would anyone spend time hacking a game that is 15 years old?
@LifeGirl I didn’t use the terminology.
@LifeGirl to be fair to the other guy, I was the one to use the terminology and I stand behind my decision.
Huh, isn't that a coincidence? I picked up the PS4 version at my local game/toy store a few days ago.. But yes, like others said.. pulling this from their digital store is a BIG yikes.
Digital is the future, huh? Yeah, I should hope ***** not..
Digital for preservation of gaming. 😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
The single player is about 3-5 hours long. Kinda makes sense that if you can't have access to the online of this game, that there's no point in keeping it up on the store. Only other logical thing to do is relist the game as singleplayer at a discounted price.
@somnambulance without the online stuff the game is so limited it's kind of a scam to sell it to people
