Rebellion is giving PS5, PS4 users something to look forward to after they've cleared their 2024 backlog as it's revealed Sniper Elite: Resistance will release for both Sony systems on 30th January 2025. A new trailer accompanies the news, which you can catch above, and pre-orders are available now.
The new standalone stealth game sees Harry Hawker put in the lead role for the first time as he "discovers an insidious new Wunderwaffe — something so powerful, it guarantees the Nazis would win the war". The narrative is set during the events of Sniper Elite 5 and takes place far behind enemy lines in France.

Each mission will be structured similarly to its predecessor, with a large open map to explore and various objectives to complete, but one new feature found in Resistance is Propaganda Missions. You'll need to find a propaganda poster in each level, which unlocks a separate Progadana Missions where you play as a resistance fighter. All this can be played alone or in co-op, and the series' trademark x-ray kill cam also returns.

Rebellion has today also detailed a season pass for Sniper Elite: Resistance, which will be bundled in with the Deluxe Edition. It'll grant you access to three extra missions, weapon packs, and gun skins in three drops after launch. Given Rebellion's strong post-launch support for Sniper Elite 5 — which saw the developer create a second season pass — there's a possibility the studio has even more planned.
In our Sniper Elite 5 PS5 review, we awarded an 8/10 rating and concluded: "Sniper Elite 5 knows exactly who it’s aimed at, and Rebellion is on target as always. The developer’s dense French sandboxes are hugely replayable, and look fantastic to boot." The game is currently available on PS Plus Extra.

Love these games. They don’t mess with the formula and you know exactly what you’re getting. Solid purchase!
I'm intrigued more by Rebellion's Fallout like game...Atom Fall but cool that Sniper Elite fans get a new game.
One of my favourite series, cant wait.
I do love this series, remember playing the first one when it launched. So will definitely play it.
But I do wish they would move on to another conflict. It's usually comes down to stopping some nazi super weapon. Even if they don't want to leave WW2, a sniper elite game set in the Pacific theatre would be a nice change of scenery and challenges.
Super excited, love these games.
Always solid games these. Still somewhat stuck in the past with its graphics; but they've always been a blast. Especially 4 and 5.
I can’t wait for this one! I think Sniper Elite 5 is one of the best stealth games ever made, with some incredible level design. I know most people won’t have it on their “all-timer” list, but for me and my tastes, it’s up there. I’m excited for this new entry.
My mate and I always play through these in co-op, this will be mo different. Always guaranteed a laugh.
The big question though, where is Karl Fairburne? Is this the series' Raiden/Snake moment??
@Kraven I’d probably have it up there too. It genuinely challenges the best of the genre.
I like the sniper elite games but I like the zombie sniper games more.
Sniper elite games are excellent.so this one is going to be good also.sniper elite resistance is going to be a instant hit.word up son
I just wish they'd do one of these in a totally fictional setting. Pretty burned out on Nazis and WW2. That includes Nazi zombies ..
@LikelySatan
With the rise of far right nationalism worldwide nowadays, killing virtual Nazis is the only way I can still get my rocks off. Keep the games coming. Show them who's boss.
Looking forward to this one, the Deluxe Edition with the season pass included seems like decent value too. From the gameplay footage I've already seen it largely looks like more of the same, but I'm okay with that.
I do wish Rebellion had done to Sniper Elite what IOI did with Hitman though; have all the content updated and available under one game so older missions/levels could be revisited with the benefit of updated visuals and gameplay features. Maybe not all the way back to the first game, but at least the more recent ones from 3 or 4 onwards.
@Kraven I picked it up. Ty for the rec.
