Developer Fntastic, whose exploits we've long chronicled as they once threatened to bring The Day Before to PS5, is back again. Having laid low for a while, the studio emerged last month, attempting to raise funds for a new "project". That didn't work, so the persistent team is back with another pitch.
IGN spotlighted this latest development. After inexplicably raising over $3,000 from forgiving backers, the campaign failed to achieve its target of $20k, so the money will be refunded per Kickstarter policy. Addressing its "dear community," incredibly, as if to save the expense of a second post, Fntastic has the gall to announce a new game in the same breath, called "Items." This project will, obviously, "require significant resources," so the dev will pivot, and develop high-quality mobile games in the meantime, likely announcing a new Kickstarter once (if) a demo for Items gets made.
Are you surprised at all to see this shameless pivot from Fntastic? Let us know in the comments section below.

Kind of neat to watch folks scam in real time.
Good grief what a laughing stock of a
"" company ""
I'll pay 20K so you F off and I never have to hear about your scummy company ever again.
Why these scammers not in jail?
Are these guys ***** serious???
At least the people who were stupid enough to back this didn't lose any money.
@MidnightDragonDX but there are plenty of people who will fall for this again who don't know about the company's last scam.
This is starting to feel like a social experiment.
@Northern_munkey Maybe, but these people got a pass this time.
Are we sure this isn't the same lot who rendered the video known as Abandoned?
Sheese. Talk about slime balls. They’re not going to succeed, so why not just quit? The first game was a scam, right? I only read that article about a second game. The second game clearly wasn’t going to happen. What’s the point of this? All these companies lately have layoffs or shut down, and then there’s this one that SHOULD shut down.
There's rumours that Big Phil is looking to aquire these devs for a billion quid
@Haruki_NLI what actually happened to that whole thing. They had an actual app on the ps store.
Everyone was pin pointing kojima in the crazy mystery reveals and the guy even was doing some interviews and then puff. Bathing ever happened.
It will be interesting to watch a documentary of these two brothers and their never ending need to scam literally back to back 😂😤🙄🤑👀
i think the person behind this really needs lay of the meth
Jesus christ 😂😂😂
Really hate that websites keep giving scammers time of day.
There’s hundreds of games that get 0 attention.
Yet these get lots of articles.
Websites should be better. They should give 0 headline time or have the article covered in warnings that it’s a potential scam. And there is a history of scam.
Is this the action-horror prop hunt game of my dreams? It's news to me.
Here we are again, adding a spin on someone else's idea and adorning it with superlatives. Not to mention that it’s funded by everyone’s favourite gaming platform: mobile. Does game development get any more abhorrent?
@Haruki_NLI Abandoned jezus forgot about that (ironic😅) that sure was an ordeal 😂😂😂. I wonder whatever happened to those a🐍🐍hats
Oh the audacity 🤡
Oh Fntastic, you scamps. Please never change.
They're trying to find money from investors to pay other investors. Then they're going to have more money invested to pay those investors.
I wonder if there's a name for that...
To quote the late, great, Darth Sidious:
”Wipe them out. All of them.”
Kickstarter should ban them from even opening a request, I think I watched SkillUp video on them or I watched someone's video and they were spending money from the first scan on hotels etc
Then in previous scams letter before they shut it down they even had the balls to state "Any funds we have or donations will help pay our debts" or something like that I mean the balls on these 2
Probably loved that life and that's what it's about scamming people for a nice life
Maybe it's secretly run by Peter Molyneaux?
I wish these guys would just go away.
Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Fool me three times, and you're officially THAT guy.
"Item"? Do you have to pay for the DLC to get other gameplay mechanics such as "Weapons" for combat or "Running Shoes" for sprinting?
