February is looking like an absolutely stacked month for PlayStation fans. Having previously been pencilled in for 'early 2025', Trails through Daybreak 2 now has a confirmed 14th February release date on PS5 and PS4.
As the name suggests, this is a direct sequel to this year's Trails through Daybreak — yet another fantastic Falcom RPG, we should note. NISA's localisation efforts are really starting to pay off, as the west is now so close to being caught up on the series, after having been left in the dark for way too long.

However, as alluded, the issue here is February's ridiculous schedule. Daybreak 2 launches on the same day as the recently delayed Assassin's Creed Shadows. Then, two weeks later on the 28th February, both Monster Hunter Wilds and Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii arrive.
Anyway, are you looking forward to continuing Van's tale in Trails through Daybreak 2? Unleash the Grendel in the comments section below.

My wallet weeps! 😂
This will take priority though over Yakuza and AC. I gotta support Trails!
That should be enough time for me to complete the first daybreak game
I need to finish the first one. I got halfway through chapter 3 and was getting burned out. I’m a “completionist” in the sense that I have to talk to everyone, do all side quests, and what have you, before I move on to the next story beat. By the time I got halfway through chapter 3, I was 85 hours deep. And there were still 3 more chapters to go. I had to take a break and play a few other games. Perhaps in the next month or two I’ll hop back into the game. It really is a special game, and one of the finer RPGs in recent memory.
@Kraven Is Chapter 3 the one in the desert city? Only reason I ask is because I felt as though the storytelling dragged during that section (it's really well paced through the rest of the game, which makes it stand out in my mind).
That means I have 4 months to finish the first game then
Played it for about 20h but then pushed it back for new releases like Echoes of Wisdom or now Metaphor Refantazio
Looks like Daybreak 2 is the only thing that will have my attention in Feb
Let's go! Super excited that this is coming so early too!
Daybreak was much, MUCH better than Reverie, so super stocked to play the sequel
@ShogunRok I actually liked the desert city chapter more than both Longlai and that technology city. It was that annoying slog of a final chapter that absolutely killed the game for me.
@ShogunRok Yeah, that’s the area. It did drag for me too. I also didn’t like some of the characters that were introduced, even if you’re not meant to like some of them, and that also halted my progression.
@Kraven Thought so — it'd be interesting to know how many other players think the same.
@Fluberuper You mean the big final dungeon with the repeat boss fights and stuff? I didn't mind it too much because I really enjoy the combat system, but I can definitely understand why you might think it was a slog.
Isn't that 9 months between releases? Japanese companies seem to have worked out how to pump games out a regular pace using reused assets. Why do most Western companies start from scratch every time?
Man I still need to finish Cold Steel 3, 4, Reverie, Daybreak 1....
Please be delayed, please be delayed. My worst fear was this game coming out in February. I still haven't finished Daybreak 1!
Finally we're only a game away with the Japanese
Aargh, me booty ain’t enough.
Haven't even finished Reverie, and Daybreak is on the shelf wrapped up. This will be a day one anyway - physical copies of these games just don't last.
Watching the eBay prices of Zero and Azure, and they're just going up and up. Going to have to bite the bullet eventually.
I am still on cold steel 3, so I will get there eventually.
Insane schedule? Nah, only Trails for me.
@Kraven I’ve played all these games and get all the sidequests
I ended with about 75 hours
How did you get to 85 at chapter 3????
Well... i care about trails and will get it. I will get MH eventually as well.
Been done with AC for several entries now and will skip this entry of like a dragon. I felt like Infinite wealth was too much of a filler and this is likely to be that too. Even though i really liked Gaiden and i think the smaller action game model is actually quite good.
Wow, is it allowed to be this happy? Only bangers to play and my wishlist is also bursting with exciting games as well as couple thing on my backlog and some I wanna play "new game+" style. Now THIS on top of all that!
I think I'll spend my whole vacation for games this time xD
@ShogunRok I believe there was also recent news that the series cracked 8 million in total sales 😉
