The identity of Metal Gear Solid 3's Eva (AKA Tatyana, Matka Pluku, Big Mama), the iconic spy who fought alongside Naked Snake and appeared in Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, has finally been revealed. Listed in the credits as "Suzetta Miñet" back in the day, this was actually a pseudonym created to protect the family-friendly image of Jodi Benson, probably best known as the voice of Ariel, The Little Mermaid, the 1989 animated Disney classic.
Benson lent her lilting tones to Barbie in Toy Story and Thumbelina from Thumbelina, too; perhaps a wise move then, keeping her work on Hideo Kojima/Konami's gritty tactical espionage action series confidential. The tidbit comes out of the Metal Gear Solid - Official Legacy Series documentary (thanks, IGN), and as you might have guessed, Benson will reprise the role in the upcoming Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, which still has a 2024 window, so keep an eye out for an imminent date (or potential delay).

Hhngghhhh…interesting.
Kept you waiting, huh?
Since when is The Little Mermaid family friendly? There's more euphemisms in that movie than any Kojima game 😂
Do you think love can bloom, even under the sea?
@NEStalgia Hollywood in general respected the maturity of children far more back then than it does today. The most obvious proof of this would be Bambi. I know for a fact that there have been numerous arguments behind-the-scenes regarding ''The Scene'' when it comes to a live-action remake.
There are a lot of Disney animated films that would not have been made in the same way today and I am not just talking about the changing cultural values regarding certain groups.
I still can't watch Bambi 😂
I also like the reference to "the scene" like we're avoiding spoilers for a movie released in 1942 😂. I thought we're were over the spoiler avoidance for Aerith but this is a new level lol!
Yeah, Disney was really different back then. Not at all like the saccharine stuff of today.
@NEStalgia You never know quite how other people will react when it comes to spoilers. I guess going by the laws of averages there must be at least one person here who doesn't know about it lol.
@NEStalgia Darlin' it's better, down where it's wetter, take it from me!
@PegasusActual93 Cam Clarke was Simba's animated voice actor (until Rob Lowe started voicing him in The Lion Guard) whenever they can't get Matthew Broderick, he was also Simba's singing voice in The Lion King II: Simba's Pride, where his speaking voice was Broderick.
Brian Cummings is known for doing the "Coming Soon to Own on DVD and Video" voiceover in Disney DVDs and videotapes (which do include more adult releases from Touchstone and Miramax).
And Jennifer Hale is Cinderella's voice actress in all of her animated appearances except the original 1950 film. Too bad we don't have Paige O'Hara (Belle) in Metal Gear. But we do have Ming Na-Wen (Mulan) in Final Fantasy, but only in that Spirits Within movie.
Yeah a lot of people had figured out it was almost certainly her eventually, hence the story of one fan giving her a copy to sign, but it's nice to finally have the official confirmation ahead of the remake.
All those years past and finally have a answer.her voice does sound lovely.word up son
