Wolf Team’s cult trilogy of Castlevania-esque side-scrollers El Viento, Earnest Evans, and Anett Futatabi will be re-released on the PS5 and PS4 next year.
The games, which originally deployed in the early 90s on SEGA CD and SEGA Genesis, are set to be redistributed as the Earnest Evans Collection, which is currently seeking crowdfunding in Japan. The target, at ¥5 million (~$32k), will likely be fulfilled, and has already raised more than 15% of its total.
We’d expect these to eventually get picked up and localised by a Western publisher, as the demand for retro compilations is quite high of late. Both El Viento and Earnest Evans originally launched in North America, although Anett Futatabi never released outside of Japan.

I think that I have these on Evercade as it goes 🤔… haven’t played them though
@colonelkilgore Are they on Evercade?!
EDIT: You're right, El Viento is part of the Renovation cartridge!
@get2sammyb ahh it’s just El Viento is it… I thought I had its sequel too but it might’ve been a game that has nothing to do with it tbh.
Edit. Just checked now and I think I was getting it mixed up with the Valis games that are also on the Renovation cart.
Just a reminder: The SEGA Mega Collection is being removed from the digital store next week. If these games are your thing, pick it up now.
@LifeGirl None of these games are on the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive Classics collection.
Give me Road Avenger (Blaster) !
@LifeGirl It's a great collection, I have it for both PS and Switch...and a way for me to kick back some money to Sega for all of my totally-100%-legal roms.
Sad to see it go, wonder what they're planning that would call for this removal? 🤔
@NintenGuy I think LifeGirl meant "These games" as in the games in the collection, not the games in the topic.
I love this kind of stuff.
