If you’ve not been keeping up with Infinity Nikki, the dress-up RPG which already has over 30 million pre-registrations, then this overview trailer should help get you up to speed. It outlines the general storyline – returning character Nikki and her cat Momo have once again returned to the mystical realm of Miraland – as well as the overall gameplay loop.

The best way to think of this is a kind of blend of Genshin Impact, Style Savvy, and Super Mario Odyssey. Your main objective is to collect Whim Stars by using your different outfits to navigate the world. One dress enables you to jump, while another can help you to attack. As a live service game, you can almost certainly expect new costumes and gameplay to be added over time.

You can already tell this game is going to have a slightly different audience to your average PS5 console exclusive, and that’s a big deal for Sony; while it’ll also be available on mobile and PC – and other systems in six months – this taps into the Animal Crossing and The Sims audience in a way many PlayStation titles don’t.

Expect it to be huge when it launches, with the PS Store claiming it’ll be available in early December. That date’s yet to officially been confirmed by developer Infold Games, but we suspect if it’s accurate all will be revealed soon.
