While we had hoped to hear more about CD Projekt Red's teased live-action Cyberpunk 2077 project in early 2025, it seems it's still quite a ways off. CDPR says the project is still in the conceptual phase and won't be ready to shop to potential publishing partners for at least another year.
We still don't know whether this live-action undertaking will be a TV series or a movie. Still, CDPR co-CEO Michał Nowakowski did provide a progress update during a Q&A session held after its latest financial earnings call on Tuesday: "I mean, the conceptual stage has various stages of advancement, so we're for sure further in than we were a year ago, but we're also not yet at the stage where we would be shopping around the concept to potential streamers or studios."
Creativity is tricky to tie to a deadline, but it is hard not to feel like we've come full circle on this one. Nowakowski says, "I'd say it's probably a similar window between here and now as was between when we announced it about a year ago and today."
Are you looking forward to a live-action Cyberpunk in whatever form it ultimately takes? Let us know in the comments section below.

Currys UK have PS5 disc drives in stock for delivery tomorrow, also free delivery.
It could be cool/good. But it depends on who they partner up with. It’d probably be pretty damn expensive to recreate Night City in live action IMO
I'd be for a movie. Don't want another high concept sci-fi series that despite popularity is cancelled a few seasons in because the production costs are too high for the streamer, who could get more viewership with cheap reality crap.
At least with a one and done movie you could keep a door open for a sequel without it feeling incomplete.
Altered Carbon Season 1 on Netflix is basically Night City, Cyberpunk world, cybernetics/augmentations etc. It can be done and done well
These industries are just creatively bankrupt.
