Trombone Champ: Unflattened, the virtual reality reimagining of the viral hit rhythm title, is coming to PSVR2, and it's right around the corner. Announced earlier in the year, the game now has a release date of 26th November 2024.
For the uninitiated, Trombone Champ: Unflattened is a rhythm game, only instead of matching blocks to the beat, you play along to the music using a virtual trombone. As you can see from the above trailer, it's borderline impossible to play "properly", resulting in hilariously off-pitch versions of numerous recognisable tunes.
On top of chasing high scores with leaderboards on each track, Unflattened features a new campaign structure to follow, as well as unlockable new trombones, each more ludicrous than the last. These can be further customised with spray paints, too. On top of that are collectable cards that feature trivia and lore about the instrument.
It's madness, basically, but there appears to be just enough meaningful gameplay here to sink your teeth into that it stops short of being just a meme game. We're excited to get to grips with this one, but what about you? Will you be aiming to become the Trombone Champ on PSVR2? Tell us in the comments section below.

YES! We gonna be tootin' it up on the PSVR2!!
I'm going to use the word Unflattened when referring to natural notes from now on.
@GuttyYZ And I will continue to use it to describe my middle-aged midsection.
Lmao I love this game, it looks super fun. Sadly musical games aren't the same on consoles with the lack of custom songs but it sure will be fun anyway
Always happy to see something come to PSVR2. I saw an orchestra conducting sim on PC VR. That’d be amazing.
Getting this one lol
Good family fun. Might be something fun to play over Christmas whilst mildly inebriated,
Bro in that thumbnail has seen some tootin' for sure.
