Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown PS4 Fighting Back with Big Balance Update 1

After effectively confirming a new Virtua Fighter is planned, SEGA has also announced a big balance update to Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown, the e-sports leaning version of the classic brawler released on the PS4.

This update will deploy in the winter on Sony’s console, alongside a massively improved Steam version of the game on PC.

Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. will feature 4K graphics, rollback netcode, and more. There’s no word on whether there’ll be a native PS5 version of Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown incorporating these changes. There’s also no mention of crossplay between the PlayStation and PC versions, which seems like a mistake.

Nevertheless, it’s great to see Virtua Fighter making a comeback. Ryu ga Gotoku Studio, the makers of the Like a Dragon franchise, has been shepherding this series recently, so you know it’s in good hands.
