Hypercharge: Unboxed, a shooter all about sentient toys, is floating the idea of a port to PS5 and PS4.
The game launched earlier in 2024 on Xbox systems to a warm reception, and now developer Digital Cybercherries is looking to bring its unique title over to PlayStation as well.
On its socials, the team asked its followers if a port to PS5 and PS4 would be something of interest, which received a very positive response:
Since then, the studio has been in touch with PlayStation to begin the conversation about bringing Hypercharge to PS5 and PS4. The team is still asking for support in the meantime:
Hypercharge: Unboxed has you playing as an action figure in hybrid third and first person shooter combat. It features a campaign that can be played solo or in up to four player co-op, as well as split screen and competitive PvP modes.

Yes definitely, "fun" games more than welcome.
So now both the developer and Sony know that the userbase wants the game on PS4/PS5!
And knowing is half the battle....
To be clear their twitter was doing and saying this back in 2022 before they went just on xbox and pc.
Never understand why you would do an exclusivity deal for a game like this. You need the game to take off if you wait to release it on all platforms there is a good chance another Multiplayer game will get there before you. I always thought it was a huge mistake for Pubg to do a deal with Xbox it allowed Fortnite to take a lot of its potential players on Playstation.
I played this on the Switch way back in 2020. Pretty fun game, albeit at the time very bare bones. The toy store map in particular is a lot of fun. Have been hoping for a PlayStation port ever since they announced an Xbox port. Would happily buy it again
This game looks based and woke. I'm down.
Splitscreen, I'll take it. Looks like me and my sons eating good next year.
Why wouldn't playstation allow it anyway, they let any old shovelware on their store as it is.
I have had this on Switch for a while and, sadly, it just doesn't live up to the promise of the concept in terms of gameplay.
It's just not very deep and the tower defense mechanics are poorly implemented/thought out.
I LOVE the concept (big sucker for videogames where you play as a toy), love tower defense games, love shooters... thought it'd be right up my alley. But, at least last I played it, it was just not up to snuff. It LOOKS the part, but it in no way holds its own on the gameplay side of things.
Anyone remember Toy Soldiers? Or Army Men 3D?
@bindiana To be fair this studio only has 5 people so they don't want to overstretch themselves.
Thanks for posting this. I've had my eye on since it released on Xbox so I'm glad that a Playstation version in the works.
