If you're looking for something to play over the holidays, Blizzard wants you to at least consider giving Diablo 4 a shot.
The action RPG's expansion, Vessel of Hatred, was well received earlier this year, but there's absolutely zero doubt that the game as a whole has been overshadowed by Path of Exile 2 β which launched just a couple of weeks back in early access.
Still, the announcement of a completely free trial for Diablo 4 is a decent move from a marketing perspective. You can download and play this free trial right now on PS5 and PS4, and it lasts until the 1st January, 2025.
What's more, you'll be able to take the Spiritborn for a spin β the new class that was introduced in the aforementioned Vessel of Hatred. We must admit, it is a lot of fun to play.
Might you give Diablo 4 a chance over the holidays? Prepare to push back the armies of hell in the comments section below.

I have both but have yet to play Path of Exile. Is it faux MMO like Diablo? Because that's one thing they did to Diablo that put me off.
I wish but unfortunately isometric and bird's eye view games just aren't for me. I want to see my character properly dammit lol
@AhmadSumadi "Is it faux MMO like Diablo?" This is how diablo has always been right from the start. They have not changed anything in the way the story's are presented. PoE and PoE2 are very similar to the way the story's are presented as well. I am currently playing the PoE2 beta and I personally prefer it to diablo 3 and 4 but I still think diablo 2 is the better game.

@Northern_munkey Really? I played the hell out of Diablo III and never ran into any other players who weren't playing with me. The whole "city hub" thing wasn't a part of Diablo III IIRC.
@Nepp67 This is EXACTLY how I feel about first person games!
@AhmadSumadi right I get you. Yes that's what changed for d4. Sorry I thought you were talking about the story for some reason. So in that respect it would appear that D4 is trying to be what the original PoE is. I much prefer the PoE games but I still love diablo 2.
@Northern_munkey I feel like the way Diablo III was linear made it more appealing to me than Diablo IV. I'm already engrossed in another MMO and don't have to time play 2 at once. Or at least something similar to an MMO. It really put me off the game.
Diablo IV is the game that reassured me that my Internet is a piece of garbage. Thank you, Diablo IV!!!
@AhmadSumadi I can understand that. Have a look at diablo 2 as it's an awesome arpg.
He hours I put into Diablo 2 in the 00s was crazy especially over LAN games and I remember going to made up DFI Lan Parties with my friends. I pre ordered D3 1 year in advanced and it got cancelled but I got it from Amazon and putting the connection issues a side. I played for about a month and I didn't like it one but I tried but couldn't and went back to D2.
It wasn't until a year after Reaper of souls expansion for D3 came out that I went back and absolutely loved it. But I've not even bothered with D4 which I will continue to wait
3000+ hours in Diablo 3. 400+ hours in Diablo 4. 100+ hours in Path of Exile 2 (early access).
PoE2 is by far the best game out of the three and it hasn't even officially released yet.
