Final Fantasy VII Rebirth PS5 PlayStation

Like asking the ocean nicely if it wouldn't mind holding the tide back, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth director Naoki Hamaguchi has appealed to modders and players to show some restraint, just once. Sadly, if our time on the internet has taught us anything, his pleas will almost certainly fall on deaf ears. When the PC version arrives on January 25th, the associated Nexus Mods page will, in all likelihood, become a den of debauched insanity.

Square Enix is not providing official mod support for Rebirth, so, like Remake, these imaginative creations will remain the exclusive province of PC gamers. Hamaguchi made the plea to the Epic Games Store (thanks, IGN), but deep down, we think he knows: "We respect the creativity of the modding community and welcome their creations... Though we ask modders not to create or install anything offensive or inappropriate."

Do you imagine Rebirth will be the game that dissuades modders from creating abominations like this? Let us know in the comments section below.
