Need sobering up after a late night of New Year festivities? HoYoverse should have the goods, as it reveals Honkai: Star Rail’s next major destination, Amphoreus. A livestream, named Paean of Nova Era, will air on 1st January.
The life of a gacha game is filled with regular updates, but every year or so, titles receive massive milestone refreshes. In the case of the aforementioned fantasy RPG, it’s almost time for its v3.0 update, which will take the Trailblazer to a new, Greek-themed location.
The developer has been teasing glimpses of this new planet for weeks now, and after the latest storyline, we know popular character Sunday will be part of the group’s exploration efforts. There’ll be a new path to discover at the fresh destination, creating new team-building opportunities.
A new planet, in the context of Honkai: Star Rail, means a brand-new cast of characters, quests, and gameplay. Last year’s v2.0 update saw the introduction of Penacony, a theme park-like landscape with a pretty complicated storyline about people escaping from the real-world by checking into an ethereal dream world.
If we have any wishes for Amphoreus, we really hope HoYoverse can keep its lore in check. Belobog proved it’s possible for the developer to tell a relatively grounded storyline, detached from all of the complications of subsequent plots. Hopefully it’s hired an editor for this effort.
Either way, we’re excited to see how anticipated characters like The Herta and even the Remembrance path of the Trailblazer function. We’ll have a summary of the livestream after it airs.

"PS5 RPG"
lol. Weird term for a multiplat.
"Free-to-play gacha action role-player Honkai Star Rail."
It sounds really different that way.
Interesting decision to air that live stream the very same day as version 5.3 for Genshin drops
Crazy updates star rail and zzz are having. I'm just happy both are treating me mostly good. I got Sunday and his cone, and fugue showed up in 20 rolls. I'm ready for big herta and agleae. And I'm gonna miss penacony. Everything about it was awesome except the truly awful monkey patch
I know Sony had a big show with a lot of new games in it, mostly the same brown looking, a couple of months back, but until I see more of Wolverine PS5 is GatchaStation to me. No offense to Astrobot.
Or maybe PushSquare should just change its name to “GatchaSquare” or “PushGatcha”. At least until the GTA6 hype train starts rolling. I still haven’t played GTA5, still just waiting on Wolverine. Maybe Deadpool will get a DLC chapter. Hope they don’t make Wolverine live service.😱
HSR is one of the ones I skipped. Unless I played it once for an hour and was unimpressed, just felt like more of Genshin?🤷🏻♂️ I’m still playing Fortnite, and went back to Speedstorm for the Incredibles, and while I was getting a little bored with Infinity Nikki I just started chapter 4 yesterday and I’m really impressed with how much the game has opened up. Looking forward to playing it now. So, no time for this.
Gargantuan honkais you say?
@rjejr Only similarity with genshin is the art style in places, and the gacha mechanic. Obviously they play differently being a turn based battle vs action hack n slash.
@Arkz they are very different in SOME areas, but the general structure of upgrades, battle passes, relics/artifacts, 6 weeks a patch, signature, standard and weapon banners plus a LOT more are all a virtual 1:1 with Genshin.
(Which personally i quite like as it took forever to get my head around Genshin dozens of systems, much easier second or third time around)
