Natlan’s main storyline will come to a conclusion in Genshin Impact’s next enormous update, scheduled to release on 1st January for both PS5 and PS4. The new content will make the motorcycle riding Pyro Archon, Mauvika, playable for the first time. She’ll headline the first phase of the banner, alongside Citali. Both will be followed by reruns of Arlecchino and Clorinde, no doubt adding a few more zeroes to HoYoverse’s bank balance.
The latest update will also plot the return of Lantern Rite, alongside a fresh character named Lan Yan. You’ll be able to earn her for free, alongside any of the other four-star Liyue characters, by completing the event. Furthermore, a second Chronicled Wish will give you the opportunity to unlock Shenhe at last.
There’ll be other activities to participate in, including a Puyo Puyo-style puzzle mode named Immortal Combat and the permanent addition of the rhythm minigame, which HoYoverse says it’ll be expanding upon moving forwards. You can also look forward to 1,600 free Primogems and 10 Intertwined Fates to help with all the pulls you’re about to make. A free new outfit for Xiangling will also be available.
Elsewhere, Hu Tao is getting some new threads, and the game is getting a series of optimisations and upgrades, including an improved Training Guide tool, a larger Artifact Inventory limit, and the ability to respawn bosses immediately.
If all that sounds like a lot, then just remember, Wuthering Waves releases on PS5 the day after this update. Are we in gacha heaven or gacha hell right now?

Having Mavuika and Citlali's banners run at the same time feels like a war crime.
