Unsurprisingly, there was no new GTA 6 trailer on 27th December as some fans had convinced themselves would be the case. Officially, the title’s still on course for a 2025 release date, however, so enthusiasts are driving themselves wild trying to find as much information as possible.
One discovery that’s been getting a massive amount of attention this week is a version of the PS5 open worlder’s trailer uploaded to Chinese website BiliBili. The bitrate used on the website is higher than that of western websites like YouTube and X, and so it reveals previously unseen details.
Fans on Reddit have been quite literally poring over every frame of the higher resolution video, discovering previously invisible details like stretch marks on one particular NPC’s thighs and arm hair. There’s nothing really revolutionary here, but it does re-confirm that the Rockstar release will have absurdly detailed visuals.
Of course, what we’re all really itching for is a new trailer. Obviously, we know the sequel will have a Bonnie & Clyde-style storyline, but we’re still waiting for further information on gameplay and the title’s all-important online multiplayer mode.

These people need to start playing some other games, instead of obsessing over one that won't even be here for nearly a year

When will we learn? We'll know what GTA6 looks like when it's actually running on someone's hardware.
Pixel counting trailers a year before the game is even in a state ready to be released is a recipe for disappointment

Wow acne... unfortunately the game might run at a res below 720 at 20-25fps on base console.
Not even wishlisting this until the game comes out and analysis confirms 60fps, if not I will happily ignore it.
I never really saw what all the over the top hype was about anyway, a lot of the saints row games were just as good imo.

Just here to mutter into the void my worthless personal opinion that GTA games have never been good and I'm dreading the upcoming tsunami of content this game will produce across every platform I visit.

I'd rather a 3rd Red Dead. Bought the first one in the sale, so looking forward to finally experiencing that and a possible replay of RDR2!

On one hand, I understand the draw of GTA - for a lot of gamers, it was their "right of passage" into "mature gaming".
On the other hand, the "edgy" appeal of the series kind of wears off as you get older and you realize it's more just an accurately sad mirror of modern culture that makes you want to facepalm at yourself for showing any interest in it at all.
I remember playing the original GTA...you know, when the primary gameplay loop was stealing cars...and I thought it was so "cool" that the game had foul language, and I could play a crook and wreak havoc.
Now, I see it as rotting brain cells and nothing else. There is nothing appealing about GTA at 43.

When this comes out expect an upsurge of new PSN profiles with achievements for only one game
RDR2 was incredible and I sank a few hundred hours into it. I would be much more interested in GTAVI if the trailer didn't make it appear that social media usage was going to be such a large part of the game. That just seems annoying. Love the Bonnie and Clyde style story though so I hope I am wrong. Far from a day one buy until reviews tell me how much I have to participate in fake social media.
This game will demand a high end pc or the inevitable ps6 remaster to fully appreciate its graphical potential. Ps5 pro might get you a stable 30fps using PSSR but the base consoles, particularly series s are really going to struggle to do this game justice.

Yep as you know I’m a 60fps freak so 30fps gonna be dam less smooth and blurred on panning around.
Will be like a step down to me going on current games I play.
The best I could do is take my TV out of game mode and VRR and play using the Sony TV motion and film smoothing, which even makes the Switch look sort of good and smooth when panning around 😊.

I just thought (if its true) that unless they work some sort of miracle, ruining the experience for this level of detail - when it wont be visible during gameplay anyway - is plain silly. Im sure people will buy it, but I think a lot will be disappointed even if only secretly so, once the novelty wears off.

@ThomasHL puuuuhhhh true words man. I even dont think about this game until I can see confirmed gameplay on PS5 Pro and have a release date. Everything else is just wasting of time and energy and reducing the will to play games we currently could enjoy.
@ThomasHL Exactly. GTA is well-known for having trailers that look better than the final product. GTA IV was memorable for that.
Isn't it funny how Rockstar get praised for realism in graphics, adding "acne scars" but other western developers get hammered when they add "peach fuzz" to their female character models. Can we have that conversation?
So 2025 has arrived and the talk, the craze, the ongoing wait for anything GTA 6 continues. I’ve never known a game have so much attention like this but let’s hope come release date, and I’ll put a fiver on it NOT being 2025 at all, we are delighted by what Rcokstar finally deliver. Will it be the greatest game ever made like we are hoping, possibly but then again GTA 5 was for a while. There’s always something to take our attention away from this, Naughty Dog any news regarding The Last Of Us 3? I’ll say no more. Apart from October 2026 release date.
The funniest part about all this GTAVI craze is that we all know it will be delayed.
