The next game from Hazelight Studios, the developer behind It Takes Two and A Way Out, has been teased for a little while now, but we'll get our first glimpse of it very soon indeed.
On its official social channels, the team has confirmed its next title will be unveiled during The Game Awards 2024:
The tease comes at the end of this quick-fire behind-the-scenes video, in which founder Josef Fares walks us through various spots in the Hazelight offices. It's a silly little clip, even referencing Fares' notorious "F*** the Oscars" moment, but we're here for it.
Anyway, we'll be hearing about Hazelight's new game in just a couple of days. It's rumoured to be named Split Fiction, and is very likely to be another co-op only adventure. Another leak claims it's due out in March 2025, too.
Fares himself has been teasing this new game as far back as our exclusive 2021 interview, in which he described the It Takes Two follow-up as "even better", and that people will be "blown away".

His "f**k the Oscars" speech never fails to make me laugh, the sheer excitement from him when he says it is brilliant.
To be fair his team does seem to release nothing but quality so his announcement is worth keeping an eye on.
@DennisReynolds
Him and his brother are something of national treasures in their native country of Sweden.
I think he's great, and I've been a fan of all the games his teams have done so far, so looking forward to this being revealed. That being said, some of his mannerisms and the way he says things sound a bit like Tommy Wiseau in the room

I am so excited! I stopped using twitter, so it sucks so many devs and such like only use that, so I miss seeing things. That sorta thing was the reason I even kept the account for a while, but just couldn't anymore
Anyways, I'm super excited for their new game!
Josef Fares and his amazing team must be protected at all costs.
His games aren't for me, nothing to do with the quality or anything just having somebody to play through an entire game in co-op with is just beyond me but I respect how hes found his niche and stuck at it producing better and better titles everytime which has also seen better and more lucrative success each time too.
Would be quite easy for him to ditch the co-op only niche genre in favour of chasing a trend that could appeal to a bigger audience and make a lot more money but he's sticking to what he knows and what he's become something of a master of and that's rare nowadays.
I wont play his next game but I'm sure many others will and I hope it is a smash hit to reward his commitment.
Not surprising really. Joseph Farris is Keighley's side fling......but don't tell Kojima!
It’s funny I was going to say he looks more like a fella behind A Way Out. Did he put himself in the game?
