Warhorse Studios has revealed its RPG sequel Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 will release one week earlier than initially expected, now slated to launch for PS5 on 4th February 2025. The announcement was made in a Twitter post that also brought the news of a story trailer and console spec details arriving on Thursday.
Bringing the release date forward by seven days does make the month of February 2025 somewhat easier to manage, if you're looking to play all the big releases on their launch days. With Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 now opening the month, Civilization 7 arrives one week later on the 11th, then Assassin's Creed Shadows on the 14th, Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii on the 21st, and then finally Monster Hunter Wilds on the 28th. That's a lot of heavy hitters in just one month.
Does this RPG coming one week earlier than first thought make you more likely to play it? Let us know in the comments below.

If they can get it out quicker, Great! Get ahead of all the other releases in mid and late Feb and beyond.
Day 1 for me and most hyped non JRPG for 2025
Wonder what its technical state will be like? The first game is really good and its why i'm excited for the sequel but goddamn its rough even to this day, the PS5 helps with performance but its still buggy and the visuals are as i said rough.
This is a very smart move.
@DennisReynolds One week won't solve a lot of problems in a complex project like this one. Would like to think that the state will be good, but if not, we know it will be fixed.
No one is finishing this game in 2 weeks, so Ubisoft are still buggered for AC shadows sales😅
I do wish they could sneak it out even earlier, but, after the initial delay, taking one week off is still a bonus ⚔️🛡🐎
@DennisReynolds IGN say it's way better optimised. Their early access chap mentions how the first game still doesn't run on a 4070super at max, but they had little to no issues with KCD2, despite it being 6 years more advanced than 1. Warhorse are a lot bigger and more experienced than they were, so here's hoping all is well.
@Ravix Good to hear.
Alright I think I'm gonna grab it. There doesn't seem to be anything of interest coming out in January for me so perfect opportunity to play the first game right before the second.
This is the most likely of that February bunch that I may purchase, maybe AC Shadows if it breaks Ubisoft free from their descent. Kingdom Come looks like it could be really unique… and honestly I’m feeling like I may need to buy something out of my comfort zone to have something to play this winter.
I dunno about anyone else, but… February next year’s releases seem a little soft to me too. I feel like there’s this huge build up, but nothing’s really popping at me as an essential purchase. I’m hoping Deliverance proves me wrong.
@somnambulance AC:S is the big one for me (will likely get AC:S on release and KC:D2 down the line - still haven't finished KC:D1), but I know lots of people are gonna be playing Monster Hunter and the Xbox crowd will have Avowed to feast on. Civ 7 will also be pretty big in their own lane.
I think February is a huge month for games; they're just pretty spread out in terms of demographics, which I think is ideal. A little bit for everyone!
I just want better combat (and combat movement).
I'll be getting this, but will be waiting a couple of months for the likely bug-fest to be squashed at least a little!
Avowed will still be what I’m going to around that time. I haven’t played the original KCD but I just grabbed it for my Steam Deck last week, so I’ll give it a go soon.
Yeah - definitely waiting for the DF all clear on this one.
If thats good, it will probably be an instant purchase, otherwise I will skip until fixed and on heavy sale.
@wildcat_kickz I’ll probably be playing Avowed or Deliverance 2. Sort of depends. Or May Shadows. I dunno. I had Shadows preordered until Yotei had a trailer. Now, all of February sort of just looks like… I dunno.
I tried the beta for Wilds. I’ll be skipping that one.
