Random: Impatience for GTA 6 Reaches New Heights with Grand Taking Ages on PS Store 1

Grand Theft Auto 6 is on its way, but while Rockstar Games takes its sweet time with 2025's hottest game, anticipation and impatience have reached such fevered heights that it's bleeding onto the PS Store.

What does that mean? Well, try looking up Grand Taking Ages VI, a recently listed game on Sony's digital storefront that pokes fun at GTA 6's protracted development.

Yes, the PS Store now has a bizarre parody listed for release in May 2025; you can even wishlist it!

Calling itself the "most anticipated game about making the most anticipated game", Grand Taking Ages VI purports to be some sort of game dev sim, if indeed it's actually being made.

"Run your dream game studio while juggling angry fans, corporate chaos, and endless delays," the PS Store description reads. "Fight your way through gaming conventions, dodge ruthless journalists, and master the art of creative excuses."

The game is "Inspired by real gaming industry events" and "delivers a satirical take on game development and the endless wait for certain highly anticipated titles".

It's registered to a studio named Violarte, which itself looks entirely fake judging by its website. What appears to be heavy use of AI-generated art and listings for several fake games can be found there, so we don't hold much hope for the arrival of Grand Taking Ages VI.

The whole thing is fairly amusing; GTA 6 has taken a while to make, after all. However, the fact a fake game from a seemingly fake company has managed to appear on the PS Store is a new low for the storefront's curation.

While all digital game shops suffer from countless low-effort titles, hosting a clear parody that, in all likelihood, will itself never materialise takes things a step further.

We imagine Grand Taking Ages VI will be removed from PS Store before long. Are you anticipating GTA 6 so much that you'd set up a fake business and publish a fake parody game page on Sony's store? Let us know in the comments section below.
