Revenge of the Savage Planet, sequel to the cult favourite Journey to the Savage Planet, has pencilled in a release window on PS5 and PS4. The silly sci-fi action title is preparing for launch in May 2025.
Much like its predecessor, the sequel places players on a vivid, uncharted alien world, and it's down to you to explore it and survive its dangers while you work out a way home.
Playable solo or with a friend in co-op, Revenge of the Savage Planet looks very stylised in this new gameplay trailer. Various weapons and tools are also highlighted, as well as the alien beasts you'll need to deal with as you explore the planet.
It looks as though it's building on what was already there in the first game, so we're hopeful this will be a good time when it arrives in May.

This looks like great fun
Hooray for local co-op, too few games have this now!
The first one was surprisingly good tbh… if a little grindy. So pretty interested in the sequel for sure.
@Llamageddon I second this! Not enough games have couch co-op any more. I will pick this one up, maybe on a sale if at $70 to start.
Journey to the savage planet was an underrated gem of a game good mechanics and amusing as well
pretty sure its still on ps+ extra
The first one was such a gem. Played it on Gamepass way back when. Always gave me lighthearted Metroidvania/Ratchet & Clank vibes.
Not sure how I feel about the third person perspective switch, as I really liked the immersion of the first person camera. But if the game is as satisfying to work through, I'll keep my eye on it.
Looking forward to this. I am fondling my corderoys with glee as I type this.
