According to Bloomberg journalist Jason Schreier, Quantic Dream's Star Wars: Eclipse and Warner Bros. Games' Wonder Woman were comprised of "literally nothing" when announced onstage at The Game Awards 2021. In light of Geoff Keighley's big show, Schreier's reminder is a good one, as it is always possible something just revealed won't ever see the light of day
The reputable writer made the remarks on Kinda Funny's Games Daily (thanks, PSU). At significant risk, we ventured into the Push Square archives long enough to pull our latest on these absentee titles. We last wrote about Eclipse back in August, when the game lost its lead writer (never a good sign). The single-player Wonder Woman, meanwhile, may still contain service elements and will allegedly utilise Shadow of Mordor's Nemesis System, articles from 2023 and 2021, respectively.
This is nothing new in the world of video games, but as development times increase and budgets balloon, it's worth keeping in perspective. Gone are the days when a single developer could achieve anything like Square's legendary run; games are too big, too expensive, and take too long to make if they ever come out at all.
