Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League support is, mercifully, ending with the completion of Season 4 in January 2025. We had held out some hope that the release of the playable character Deathstroke, who seemed like the coolest of the additional baddies, might draw an influx of players. Alas, it seems the game is fated to fade into ignominy.
Forbes journalist Paul Tassi has also been chronicling Suicide Squad's pain. He notes that the release of Deathstroke (not to mention the steeply discounted game) failed to produce a late-in-life windfall for publisher Warner Bros. Games. Tassi notes that this will likely be his final player count update, which is how you know it's over; the writer is among the few evangelists the game has ever had.
We suppose it was always unlikely Deathstroke would turn things around, and it seems Rocksteady is keen to put this particular affair behind it. Will you be so quick to pick up the developer's next game, whether it stars Batman or not? Escape into the darkness of the comments section below.

Oh yeah. Suicide Squad.
Unless proven otherwise, Rocksteady isn’t who they were and should no longer be afforded the grace they used to get to given how many have left. They should earn their reputation again.
A good character can't fix a broken game.
I honestly think, in the near(ish) future, we will thank games like Suicide Squad, Concord, and the likes. Because these massive failures will make executives way more cautious in the future with their decisions (as it hits their bottom line) and listen a bit more to people 'in the trenches' as it were. 'Fortnite killers' will stop being a trend with games coming out in the 2030s. At least that's my hope
Oh Rocksteady, you're a shell of your former self...
Tbh, I completely forgot about this game. It seems like I’m not the only one.
Just started it this morning as I want to get the platinum before the servers close. Real early in the game but pleasantly surprised so far.
@Petrecis24 are the people in “the trenches” single player only gamers?
It is currently retailing for £2.75 on sites like Fanatical. So er yeah, it isn't going well.
Great subheading Khayl.
@Petrecis24 I would love if this is the case but I don't think it is. Execs are blinded by Fortnite money and will never stop chasing it.
I hope Rocksteady can turn it around on their next game. Yes, Suicide Squad was a big mistake. But I like to at least give devs a chance to redeem themselves on the next entry.
After all, everyone thought Devil May Cry was done for after DMC2. Then we got a complete masterpiece in DMC3 so it has happened before. Hopefully it can happen again with Rocksteady.
I have already said in other posts, I picked this up on the sale and although I skipped most of the cutscenes, the game itself as a looter shooter was not horrific. For sure it is nowhere near the levels of Arkham games, but they are not the same kind of games at all and I enjoyed it for what it was. I fully expect that if Rocksteady get another chance to make a game, it will be a follow up to Arkham Knight or something like that and it really needs to happen or this would have been a really bad way to end as a developer.
Rocksteady need to thank the Concord devs for saving their blushes this year.
@colonelkilgore it starts good but after the first boss fight they stop adding anything new into the game. You have seen every enemy type and mission the game has to offer by that point. Then about 2/3s into the campaign the writing takes a massive nose dive and just rushes through the plot with so little pay off since the campaign doesn’t actually finish the story and the post launch updates barely have any story content at all. Good news for you though is that the post launch updates do not affect the trophies at all so you don’t have to play them and it is a relatively easy platinum.
Since playing the game I have gradually warmed to it. It's not great but it is slightly above average. I have a feeling the end game will be a slog but the basic game and story has held my attention so far and I think I am halfway through.
@PloverNutter did you get the plat… and if so, is it manageable solo or did you play co-op?
I bought the xbox deluxe version for 4.99,and I kind of feel like I was ripped off now ,another guy mentioned devs are trying to make a fortnite killer, this will never happen , fortnite is more than just a game now, it's a brand behemoth, never gonna happen, the kids love it, they can't get enough, the vbuck is like crack to them, they need to just give it up and just give us a new single player batman for God sake, id take a remastered arkham trilogy to be fair.
@pushL7 Yeah, they should just cave in and buy V-bucks like (almost) everyone else.
@Petrecis24 Executives learning the actual lesson? In what world do you live?
Got this on Xbox cheap. Playing offline solo only and it’s a much better game than the angry internet claims.

@colonelkilgore For what it's worth, my wife never plays third person shooters and managed to solo plat this game. It's definitely doable! A bit of a grind though from the looks of it (I'm still playing through the story).
Andnothingofvaluewaslost.gif
@colonelkilgore played completely solo. In fact I got the plat while the game couldn’t even do multiplayer in the first few months. The only thing that may be hard for you is leveling up the characters as literally the only thing Rocksteady managed to patch effectively was to get rid of the xp farming missions you could do the first few weeks. Those leveling up trophies are going to be a real grind
@nomither6 no, not at all. The people "in the trenches" are the actual game devs and people that work on those products before being released. Most people on the Concord dev team knew the game sucks and will not resonate, but higher ups wouldn't even allow them to express any kind of constructive criticism towards the game. Do you think the guys and girls working on those games don't know? They know better than anyone but, I wouldn't say anything either. I would rather keep my job than risking my career to "save Sony some money"
I'm in the minority but I really enjoy this game mainly the combat loop and I like haveing thr squad even if it's a worse version of guardians of the galaxy. Abit gutted it's ending as its one of the only live service games I like
@colonelkilgore the Batman hide and seek is superb, never thought about what it would be like to be stalked by Batman before and it was kind of terrifying. I'm going to spoil the ending for you though so don't read on, but it's actually extremely disappointing
There is no ending
In other news, Concord failed.
