Tetris Forever, the latest retro compendium from Digital Eclipse, has just received an extra playable version of everyone's favourite falling block puzzler.
Once you've installed the latest game update, you'll be able to play Welltris — a game previously covered in the interactive documentary, and now you can check it out for yourself.
Welltris was initially released on MS-DOS, and is Tetris designer Alexey Pajitnov's first follow-up. Pieces fall from all sides of the screen into a central well, and it's your job to complete lines on all sides to clear the way for more blocks.
In addition, a small update has come to Tetris Time Warp, the brand new version of the game developed especially for Tetris Forever. All players are now able to individually remap the controls to their liking. Similarly, control remapping has been implemented for some of the older games in the collection, such as the Electronika 60, MS-DOS, and Apple II titles.
Digital Eclipse also confirms in a press release that more updates are in the works for Tetris Forever. More playable games are being explored for inclusion, and the team also wants to respond to feedback, adding requested features and fixing bugs.
Moreover, Tetris Time Warp is due to receive a big update in the new year, "adding a variety of new features and modes".
So, it seems like the collection will continue to grow and improve in 2025. Have you been playing Tetris Forever? Are you glad to see Welltris added to the range of playable games? T-spin into the comments section below.
