With the festive holiday just a couple of days away, the UK's physical top 10 is filled with your typical bestsellers, but Astro Bot has just about broken into the scrum.
In 10th place, it's the highest it's been for a few weeks, likely due to customers buying PS5 consoles for Christmas and grabbing the family-friendly platformer to go with it.
At the top of the pile is Call of Duty Black Ops 6, followed by Hogwarts Legacy and EA Sports FC 25 in second and third respectively. It was always going to be these three vying for number one as the holiday approaches.
The gap between third and 10th place is filled by Nintendo-published titles, with the evergreen Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Animal Crossing: New Horizons showing very impressive staying power.
Here's the latest top 10 in full (physical sales only).
UK Sales Charts: Week Ending 21st December, 2024

- Hogwarts Legacy
- EA Sports FC 25
- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
- Super Mario Party Jamboree
- Nintendo Switch Sports

I think the Astrobot having a Santa Claus hat really pushed them over the edge to nab that top 10 spot
Yeah go Astro
Yeah I did say that the GotY win would probably impact its sales in this chart within the comments of last weeks article. Good news and well deserved… May it’s sales have a llloooonnnnnggggg tail.
Should be Number 1 in my opinion, let's have more real videogames like this in 2025 & beyond.
I noticed that Astro Bot is out of stock at multiple retailers.
You can tell what console sold the most this holiday.
@colonelkilgore Well obviously it would have an impact 😃
I think Astro bot will have long legs and keep selling over the years.
Can't wait for the new Nintendo console as then, finally, MK8 and Minecraft might eventually bog off! I mean, who is still buying these in large enough numbers to make it into the top 10??
@UltimateOtaku91 Rather than thumping your chest about whose box is better, let's celebrate the holidays by being happy for all the great games that came out this year on all platforms.
It did a lot of things right gameplay and graphical wise but the sound from the controller and the over the top vibration was to much for me, I would have loved to see an option to remove the sound from the controller.
@Champalimo i wish more games made use of the controller. The controller speaker is a big reason i dont want to use headphones for silent hill.
Are these kids losing their Maro Kart 8 game cards and getting new ones bought for them every week...
Love to see it. Smaller games made by a smaller team, so it doesn't need to hit 5+ million units, but the more success it has the more likely Sony is to greenlight smaller different projects like this. If you are on the fence and want to see more risks from Sony it's one to pick up.
@Robinsad Again thats fine but there should have been an option to toggle it same as the extreme over the top triggers I turn the adaptive triggers off because it doesnt add anything to the game.
Again its personal preference same that I would like to see an assymetric official ps5 controller.
@Jrs1 yeah maybe I should’ve been more clear, on last weeks article people were stating how surprised they were that it hadn’t impacted the charts at that stage. My argument was that last weeks chart was only up until the day after the Game Awards and therefore was insufficient time to see its impact… but it would show the following (ie this) week.
@colonelkilgore Ahh i see 👍
@cburg I'm not, im just pointing out that with all the Switch games in the charts it's shows that the switch must have sold a lot of units over Christmas.
