Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader has received a surprisingly large patch ahead of the Christmas break; we'd expect something like this to accompany an expansion, and at least one DLC offering is still on the way. We suppose we shouldn't complain: Co-op mode is now available on PS5, new cutscenes have been added to the campaign, specific combat encounters have been overhauled, and a smattering of new weapons (including some much-needed Force Swords) have been fairly distributed throughout the opening acts to aid early game item progression.
Developer Owlcat Games has done our grunt work for us, sifting through the 1000+ changes introduced by the major patch, with a list of highlights you can peruse below (always appreciated). If you like, you can see the complete, exhaustive list here, but beware of story spoilers.

I have been enjoying it. I'm a big fan of owlcat, knowing they have a lot of jank at the beginning of their releases, but are committed to improving thier games. As an avid D&D player, I do enjoy the fantasy settings a bit more The lore of 40k is quite interesting and I've only dabled in Some tabletop. I havnt finished it yet, but I am having fun so far.
Are we getting this guy as a character?
Fantastic but pretty glitchy game so hopefully this patch cleans a lot of that up. That said I loved it and will try to talk a buddy into another go at it co-op. I didn’t get into Wrath of the Righteous but thanks to Rogue Trader I’ll be trying that again as well. For pure strategy RPG goodness I’d rank this game right at the top. Can’t wait to see what Owlcat does next.
Fantastic game! Do not be afraid of glitches they are almost entirely gone. Cannot recommend it enough. I actually enjoy this way more than bg3 for some reason.
Owlcat is the goat of cRPGs! 🥰
Owlcat have been brilliant across this and Pathfinder. That said with so many changes, I’ll probably wait for the next DLC to do a new run with up to date builds.
Didn't even know this existed but loving space marines 2 and darktide. Will check it out.
You forgot the PS5 Pro boost to 4K! It´s glorious
Trying my best to avoid channeling Debbie Downer here, but keep in mind that you’re indirectly supporting Putler, if you buy this game. Owlcat and Saber are Russian studios, which is why I booted both Warhammer-games from my wishlist.
@Gryzor Owlcat operate from Cyprus and Us. Not Russia.
@Sveakungen Their main studio is still in Russia. HQ is in Cyprus.
@Gryzor why are people always trying to bring politics into videogames?
Just enjoy the game or don’t. Leave the politics out.
For anyone interested Humble have a really good bundle available on PC currently where you can get RT plus both Pathfinder games and a load of D&D games for around £23.
Possibly worth a look if you enjoy CRPG but don't feel they are a great fit on consoles.
A touch of coop is making this higher on my list of games to check out!
@Gryzor Unless they have a memorial to Putin in their studio, I don't see the issue. I'm not supporting Trump by buying The Last of Us, I'm not supporting Putin by buying Space Marine 2, nor am I supporting Xi by buying Black Myth.
@Jyc Well, you guys do you, of course. But I can’t enjoy a game with which I’d be supporting an invasion. No, it’s not much, but the tax-money does still help him.
It’s only a video game. It’s not a needed commodity and therefore easily skippable. Act according to your own moral compass🤷🏻♂️
@Gryzor Do what you feel but I don't understand this logic because the same people who say stuff like this also buy games developed in the West and other countries that support/aid/do the same things. I notice USA and its allies gets a pass when it comes to these type of callouts
@Wendigoindigo You do realize it makes you look like a troll, if you imply that the US has ever started a war to annex another country, right? Apples and oranges…
