Publisher Source Technology and developer Recreate Games have officially announced that Party Animals will be coming to PS5.
This Xbox console exclusive will make the jump to Sony's current-gen machine "soon", with no firm date provided.
We kind of already knew about this thanks to a premature PS Store page, but it's always good to get proper confirmation.
For those who don't know, Party Animals is a physics-based party game in the same vein as Gang Beasts. It has more variety; in addition to the clumsy brawls you'd expect, the game also features power-ups and alternative modes like a kart racer.
Party Animals joins the growing list of games formerly associated with Xbox coming to PlayStation. This began in earnest last year with the likes of Pentiment, Sea of Thieves, Grounded, and Hi-Fi Rush ported over. Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is also set for PS5 release soon.
On top of this, many others are heavily rumoured; Microsoft is seemingly gearing up to open the floodgates with series such as Halo and Gears of War supposedly coming to PS5.

I, honest to God, have never heard of this game in my life.
I have to wonder who that is realistically likely to interest.
@Enuo same here, never heard of it.
@Totheteeth people with friends probably
Played this a fair bit on xbox at house parties. It is incredibly fun but stupid. But fun
@BamBamBaklava89 yes that's probably a big part of it. beer also helped.
the clip above doesn't exactly sell it though, haha! Really fun, multi player melee game, bit like smash bros but all the characters are animals that control like they are on horse tranquillisers
@BamBamBaklava89 Oh. That explains why I hadn’t heard of it!
When games like Killer Instinct and Rare Replay exist 😮💨
While I don't usually fall for these goofy games, I didn't know it featured a kart racer mode. I might check it out because of that.
Why bring up XGS and Indiana though? Isn't this game your standard timed exclusive affair?
I just feel it's important not to lump 'em all together, is all.
I just want the Banjo games to come here. I played them a crap ton as a kid but never actually finished them
This isn't a Microsoft product like all the other games listed in the article. It's a little misleading making it sound like Microsoft is bringing it over without outright saying that.
With that said, it's been on PC since September 20, 2023. So players never had to play on Xbox if they wanted to play it.
@LetterTrackHighlight I find that PushSquare is, unfortunately, the worst for console wars propaganda within their network. I'm actually surprised they list PureXbox in their friends section at the bottom on the site.
The editors really need to get it toned-down.
Is this better or worse than Gangbeasts? My nieces and nephews go crazy for that so if this better I am so there
@Enuo my exact words, and I play my Series X pretty regularly.
Fun game.
Had a pretty great time Messing around on it with mates. Especially while blazed
The preview picture to this article is very interesting for those who may have a perverted sense of humour
Party animals? lol. Never heard of it. Andy Indy is coming eventually, whenever Microsoft decides to port it. Silent Hill 2 is coming to the Series X also. Sony paid a ton of money (that they probably didn't have) to buy one year of exclusivity.
@Totheteeth Me and my girlfriend are buying this day one!
Not a Microsoft owned studio, so a different scenario from the other titles mentioned.
@Romans12 did Silent Hill 2 not do well on PlayStation then? I was under the impression it had sold well on both platforms. God its good though
@Enuo Without making light of you specifically, I am using your comment to point out how funny it is that people can hear about games (or not at all) in different ways! You've never heard of it, which is totally fair. Meanwhile it's been on my radar for the last... two years? Ever since it was announced at the VGAs. By no means an earth-shattering game idea, but I thought it looked fun and I've been waiting for it to make it's way to Playstation.
@Mikey856 It's easily the best performing Silent Hill game ever released. That dude is a an xbox super fan and doesn't currently reside within the realm of the real.
It’s prettttty fun with a group of friends, I would recommend to anyone that liked Gang Beasts or Human: Fall Flat
First we got Xbox exclusive El Paso, Elsewhere, and now this?!
Better late then never I guess? Didn't know it was still Xbox only or whatever the case besides PC.
To the PS release I guess? Not my thing but better to expand to other platforms for sales if they haven't already I guess.
It's quite fun for....parties! Give it a try, you'll like it! 😉
I had no idea this was even an exclusive.
Removed - unconstructive feedback
@Ogbert I had forgotten this game existed, also didn't know it was an Xbox exclusive.
Rare Replay would be a good addition to PS library! I’ve played since day 1 on Xbox One.. and would gladly play again on PS5
