We aren't sure why this wasn't already the case, but Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone players will soon be able to disable cross-play with PC in the restricted Ranked Play mode, which Activision hopes will "improve the gameplay experience." This news follows the firm's claim that it just banned a casual 136,000 cheaters from the competitive playlist, which only launched in November. The option to exclude PC players from the equation arrives with the advent of Call of Duty's imminent Season 2 of service content, scheduled to start on 28th January.
Considering you have to log at least 50 wins in multiplayer to access Ranked Play, it is passing strange that the ability to disable cross-play wasn't there at launch; it's not like the setting is unheard of, and let's be honest here, legitimate cheaters on consoles are exceedingly rare, and we all know how the aim bots are getting in. Hence, any multiplatform multiplayer arena that includes PC players is unlikely to ever be genuinely fair for console players, which is before accounting for the relative difference in controller inputs.
Will the ability to exclude PC players from Ranked Play on PS5 and PS4 "improve the gameplay experience" in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone? Take less precise but generally more comfortable aim in the comments section below.

Black out > Warzone and I will die on that hill.
Any game that forces crossplay with PC is just an instant no buy.
It's stupid for any games publishers to pit console gamepad players against mouse and keyboard pc players in first person shooter 😕
@Oram77 no need to die! you got a sleeper army right behind you! blackout was way better! the map was fun, the gameplay and structure of it all was just more fun and better because treyarch knows how to make FUN CODs! infinity ward always made the more boring ones ever since modern warfare 3, despite having better gameplay than treyarch CODs.
@wiiware as a controller player that uses controller to play shooters on PC (KB&M is just too hard for me), I don't like playing with console players because of aim-assist, and they also arent as pleasant to have as teammates.
This is fantastic news
I wish this would go the other way in Apex Legends. I had to quit the game because controller people had broken auto aim.
On its face you would assume there's a big gap between controller and mouse users in COD. But actually all the pros play on controller and the recoil patterns for guns on mouse are wilder. I don't know that it really matters too much, but I would have thought the option would have been there already so it's welcome. I'm just excited for Season 2 next week!
@Contimaloris Like Xim and Cronus?
It's a shame that console cheating is rife, and I'm not just talking about cronus. It's rare to get a lobby without one cheat using ai to play for them. You only need to check the leaderboards for proof!
