The original Life Is Strange developer DON'T NOD has announced it's delayed the second half of its new PS5 narrative-driven title Lost Records: Bloom & Rage by four weeks. While the first part will still launch on 18th February 2025, those who play it will now have to wait longer for the second half, which has been pushed back by a month to 15th April 2025.
Lost Records was always designed to be released in two distinct pieces, but now the wait between them will be longer. In a blog post, DON'T NOD explained the delay is needed to "refine the experience, address more bugs, and enhance the storytelling for a truly immersive continuation of the journey".
It continued: "We feel that this extra time is necessary to ensure we deliver the experience players and fans deserve. We are confident that this delay will allow us to provide you with a richer experience and we can’t wait for you to live the full journey of Swann, Nora, Autumn, and Kat." It then teases it'll have something "to keep you entertained" between the two episodes on social media, suggesting it may be dropping story tidbits in the lead up to Tape 2, titled Rage.
The game overall is expected to last between 10 and 12 hours, so expect six hours of story and gameplay out of Tape 1. Does this delay turn you off from playing the first part of Lost Records right away? Let us know in the comments below.

Really looking forward to this game, but I'd rather buy it when both halves are out. Especially as I've got a massively large backlog, anyway.
Well that new life is strange game was a bummer, so they got a chance 👌👀
Really dont understand the split.
Maaaaaaaaan, this might be another life is strange 2 situation where the wait between parts just dissolves all interest in the game.
I was always planning to wait until both parts were released to play Lost Records. It being delayed another month is a bummer, but not the end of the world. A little strange though given that the reason for it being pushed back in the first place was to give it space from Life is Strange: Double Exposure, not this.
Hopefully it delivers in the end regardless though.
I hate to say it, but I don't see this working out for them at all. This split release was always a very bad idea to me, but the gap between the two now being almost two months sounds like a major self-inflicted wound to Don't Nod.
This looks awful
@Danloaded It's usually to give the team more chance of fixing enough bugs.
Also used to get some hype since those interested in Part 2 after playing Part 1 can pay for the second half.
I imagine part 1 will end on a big cliffhanger, happy for it to fall into two parts - still very excited to see what it has in store!
I never mind developers taking longer to provide a more robust product these days, not after the shambles some games have been rushed out in
I’m looking forward to this one. I just hope that it’s worth the wait. I mean, it’s sort of a novelty they’re going back to this format of releasing games. It actually makes me nostalgic for playing the older LiS games, you know? The wait was much longer and more agonizing than this one will be. I still have no idea what to expect with this one too, which is cool. I’d preorder on PS yesterday if I could. I hope this one gets a better reception than Double Exposure did. Glad they released so close together to be such a direct comparison point.
I see no point in this. This is a game, not a TV series that's aired with days or weeks of breaks to keep people glued to the screen and watch commercials in the meantime. If it's not fully ready, they should delay it...
Never a fan of episodic games. Was going to wait for it all anyway.
