Microsoft has revealed its next Developer_Direct livestream will take place on 23rd January 2025, and there'll be reason for PS5 owners to watch as DOOM: The Dark Ages and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 are confirmed to be part of the new digital showcase.
Both titles were announced for PS5 upon their original reveals during Microsoft's summer broadcast, with the newest DOOM title out of ID Software not wasting any time in coming to PS5 on the same day as its Xbox Series X|S and PC launch. Meanwhile, Expedition 33 has a Game Pass deal in place but remains multiplatform.
In addition to the two games heading to PS5, Microsoft will also shine the spotlight on South of Midnight and announce a brand new game from a "surprise location". The former is only confirmed for Xbox Series X|S and PC at this point, but we'll have to wait until the event to see whether the latter is also a Microsoft exclusive.
DOOM: The Dark Ages and Expedition 33 are both slated to release later this year, so fresh details like new trailers and potential release dates are on the table. The livestream will take place on Thursday, 23rd January 2025 at 6pm GMT / 10am PT / 1pm ET. What do you want to see from these two games? Let us know in the comments below.

Killer line-up for the Developer Direct this year, especially if the Oblivion remaster rumors are to be believed.
I really hope Expedition 33 sells well, that way Square Enix will realise they can go back to turn base combat every now and again. Just hope GP doesn't effect it sales too much.
Hope we get a release date for Expedition 33
Not really excited about them, but certainly will give both a try on gamepass.
Both doom the dark ages and clair obscur expedition 33 are gonna be instant hits.word up son
@Oram77 sames, there are sp few bigger budget turn based games. But a surprising game that looks interesting from a western team
@RagnarLothbrok from looking at Expedition 33's combat style gives me such FFX vibes, in the best way possible.
@Oram77 the devs have said that ffx is a strong inspiration for it not only the combat but what the original story of ffx was supposed to be
Wonder what the surprise is. I'm expecting it to be the rumoured Oblivion remake
Man, Clair Obscur looks so good. Its one of my most anticipated games for this year.
Just hope they find success and that GP doesn't kill their sales.
Looking forward to the PS5 release dates.
Pure and Push have different GMT times, @LiamCroft. Who is right...? My money is on Pure...🤔😂
@Fiendish-Beaver looks like a missprint on this end...definitely 6pm for us lot 🙂
"Microsoft will ... announce a brand new game from a "surprise location"."
Will it be from Phil Spencer's ar$ehole, because that wouldn't be a surprise whatsoever!
@Futureshark I'm hoping silksong 🤣😭
Doom is the only game shown there that I have even the slightest interest in.
Nice little showcase highlighting games coming to playstation in the future, may give these a watch from now on.
I hope Expedition 33 has a long deal so they can polish it for the PS5.
@Batesy125s Apparently a reputable Xbox leaker claimed it isn't the Oblivion remake (Pure Xbox had an article about it I believe.), so it probably won't be that.
My two most anticipated games of 2025 (unless Witcher 4 or Project Robot miraculously make it) so that's cool. Don't really need more info on them besides a release date mind you.
Doom looks cool, but I won’t pay money for a game where the developers force multiplayer trophies into the main list. I have zero interest in the mp and don’t want my trophy experience penalized for something I won’t play. Campaigns and multiplayer elements in games should always have separate trophy lists. I’ll wait for it to come to ps+ and try it free on my alt rather than conrribute toward their gamer unfriendly decisions.
Those two games look incredible. As for what I’m excited for most - Doom: The Dark Ages had me amped. I have a feeling it will release in the spring similarly to Eternal, which launched in April of 2020.
I would have been excited for seeing a new Doom but the last game was a big disappointment to me
@Flaming_Kaiser Is it a timed exclusive for Xbox? I thought it was coming out on the same date on PS5?
