A beefy 5.4GB update for Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero is available to download now on PS5. Patch 2.0.6 adds support for the game's first DLC pack — also out today — alongside an all-new, limited-time game mode.
It's called the 'Legendary Warrior Face-Off', and has you fight against an "extremely powerful character". Again, this mode is only sticking around for a limited time — but we assume that more opponents will be added in future updates.
And that's not all. The patch actually makes some pretty significant changes to the game's combat system in an effort to rebalance certain mechanics.

Tried out the new characters yesterday and Beast Gohan is definitely interesting to play as. I quite like Adult Gohan’s playstyle in the game, as it’s quite combo-based. I think some of Beast Gohan’s dialogue is a little cheesy though with him talking about wanting to be the strongest guy in the world. Doesn’t seem to quite line up with Gohan’s character. Maybe in Toyotoro without Toriyama era, Gohan will be a more serious character, but I dunno about that. I like the Super Hero Piccolo better… until Orange Piccolo, who has weirdly weak specials. Cell Max is pretty awful of the characters. Outside his ultimate, he’s one of the slowest characters on the roster and has one of the most limited move sets. Overall though, a good batch of characters.
Really looking forward to Daima’s additions, as Daima may end up being my favorite Dragon Ball arc once all is said and done. I’m in shock with just how good Daima is as a perfect greatest hits run for the series so far.
" Quick Match has been changed so that you do not enter a room and instead get immediately matched with an opponent. "
Hallelujah. The fact this wasn't the case at launch was wild. The only way to truly play matches quickly before this patch was to hop into Ranked
Honestly im beginning to regret my purchase. The online is impossible to enjoy that cheesy tactics by every other opponent. And the story mode (which is a highlight for me no matter how many times I'm replaying the same events. I'm playing A Dragonball game cause I like Dragonball) was very disappointing.
New DLC characters that are just new forms for characters already in the game (minus the Gammas) just isn't exciting to me.
And Diama has been boring me so I'm not interested in characters from that anime. 😪
@3Above I did not buy this but have a feeling it would go the same way for me. As much as I miss the old Budokai games I don't even play online or have anyone that would play locally with me so I would really just be doing the story and random matches against the CPU and I think I would tire of it quickly. I will snag it down the road if it drops to like 15 bucks though
