GTA 5 voice actor Steven Ogg, who plays Trevor, has expressed his desire for the maniacal protagonist to appear in GTA 6... so he can be killed properly this time. Speaking to Screen Rant, the actor pitched the scene as passing the torch on, where Trevor could be killed right at the start of the game by one of the newly playable characters.
He explained: "I wish it would be fun if Trevor appeared in it just to be killed at the beginning. I think that would be cool, because it also acknowledges the fans of like, 'Hey, thank you.' Pass the torch, stomp Trevor's head in, and sort of put an end to that and allow a new generation to take over."
While Trevor can be killed in the main story of GTA 5, his death isn't part of the canon ending. With three conclusions to the game, the official ending sees all three protagonists survive the final mission. Ogg says in the interview he hasn't been cast in GTA 6, so the odds of the character returning are extremely low.
This wouldn't be the first time Rockstar has killed one of its characters in this manner, however. Shortly after Trevor's introduction GTA 5, he's seen killing Johnny Kleibitz, the star of GTA 4 DLC The Lost and Damned. We'll have to wait until the final game launches to see if a similar scene does actually come to fruition, with GTA 6 currently slated for a late 2025 release on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Imagine disliking the character you played so much that you want the character killed off in the next game 😂😂😂😂
You wonder if he would’ve still got that role in the walking dead if he wasn’t in GTA 5 🤔
@Can-You-Believe-Sith Well, Trevor is a mass-murdering meth fiend. Not a lot of redeeming qualities there.
@Can-You-Believe-Sith Its more he's tired that Trevor has defined his career and made him heavily typecast. He also hates how fans just ask him to insult them as Trevor all the time. I get where he's coming from it to be fair.
waiting to see lucia killing him by making him bite the curb be the reason why she’s in prison lmfao ðŸ˜
Didn't Trevor killed the last GTA protagonist? I can see this being a tradition
I get that Ogg hates being typecast but this solves nothing. If he dies people will still call him Trevor from GTA. Judging by alot of comments most people DID kill him in GTA5 amd still call him. Ogg did too good a job
@Ashina He killed one of the dlc protagonist, Johnny Klebitz, from lost and the damned. But not the main protagonist.
I don’t think this is about being type cast - I think he just feels likes it’s a neat way to hand over to the characters that will define GTA for the next however many years and he is right in that regard.
Man's sniffing for a payday, that's all.
@Can-You-Believe-Sith I don't think he would have got that role I thought that myself when I first saw him and I was like GTA5 for you noticed
Kinda glad I never got into GTA 5 enough to associate Ogg with it. He's got such an intense presence on screen, so I understand the type casting, but he really is better than just a video game character.
i hate that this is news. save us Rockstar, please!
I spent most of GTA5 throwing him out of helicopters solely to watch this insufferable character die.
He's an awful person so no ones cares michael and Trevor on the other hand are decent people
Steven hates the character that put him on the map. Meanwhile Michael and Franklin's actors absolutely love every season of the attention they get.
I'm not into GTA games but has there ever been any characters from their previous games in the sequels?
Who'd be the one to take Trevor out? Certainly wouldn't be the Eminem wannabe that's for sure, Trevor would put him in a stew.
