PS Plus Premium: January 2025
As is Push Square tradition, we conducted a Poll over the weekend to gather your thoughts — and surprisingly, the results were actually positive for once! An impressive 60 per cent of voters were at least somewhat happy with the lineup for January 2025, with the "it's a crap selection" receiving just 10 per cent of reader votes. That makes a nice change for once. As expected, God of War Ragnarok is what you're looking forward to playing most.

Time to finish the free Ragnarok DLC!
Like a Dragon: Gaiden was surprisingly great. I went in without expectations due to it being a spin-off, but it's right up there with the likes of Judgement and Yakuza 0 as the best RGG has ever done.
Well I suppose it's time to give God of War Ragnarok a try. Haven't been a fan of the previous ones but I will try to keep an open mind.
I am also intrigued by Citizen Sleeper so will give that a look too.
Don't forget to add that the PS5 games can be streamed from the Portal too!
Time to finish of Forspoken then I think I will give the GoWR DLC I go. Totally forgot about that!
Also... maybe a New Game+ run
@RiverGenie Honestly, if you tried God of War 2018 and didn’t like it, I would say don’t even bother with Ragnarok. It’s just 2018 but even more so.
GoWR added to the download list and I bought Citizen Sleeper in the previous sale 👍
@LunarFlame17 I platinumed [sic] the 2018 but by the time Ragnarok came out, I felt tired of its gameplay. I like the story and characters and everything they did with Norse mythology but I just could not be bothered to play it. Gave it a try at a friend's to see if it was me or the game or if I am imagining things. Turns out it was me. I did not gel well with that gameplay any longer. Felt repetitive, already seen, forced to do meaningless upgrades once again for no narrative reason, so yeah - thank you YouTube full game (gameplay where it had narrative elements plus all the cinematics) content creators.
You too can now blub your eyes out at the end of 'The Man Who Erased His Name'.
@Ainu20 I liked it too and felt it was let down by Infinite Wealth as a follow up. IW has to have one of the most drawn out monotonous end level segments in the series history. It just drags and the repetitive battles needed serious editing. It got so bad I wanted an easy option just to rush through them.
Added Ragnarok but I got bored of GoW 1 rather quickly so probably won't play it don't know why just couldn't get into it.
@Trapdoor Glad I'm not the only one who felt that way. Aside from being a terrible slog, I also felt the writing in Infinite Wealth was awful compared to Gaiden. I wasn't just disappointed with IW, it has actually made me less excited about the future of the series.
I’ll be downloading Ragnarok & Gaiden for replays and Medievil 2.
Still haven’t played the Valhalla DLC, and Gaiden was such a blast. Highly recommend both Ragnarok & Gaiden. Although Gaiden is a terrible starting point, I feel as if the combat is as refined as ever. Played Medievil 1 a few months ago and really enjoyed it
@Trapdoor That's a shame to hear.. I've recently started Infinite Wealth and have to admit to be bored with the fist dozen hours I've played, all story, no playing. If it doesn't bite in the next few hours I'll have to drop it....
Chibi Gundam! That would be enough for me alone this month, but I've always wanted to try Atlas too, so I'm well catered for. Obviously Ragnarok is great for new PS owners, but anyone with an interest will have played this some time ago I think... and its well worth it
Had 45 mins or so on Atlas Fallen. Played it a bit in 2023 but going to stick with it this time
God of war ragnarok is amazing but I suppose its a nice addition here the thing is with these services is you own nothing same as gamepass atlus is the interesting one here
lol, was going to buy it when it was on sale, kept talking myself out of it because of needing cash for other things of course, and glad I did playing it free now and loving it.
glad that indiana jones and the staff of kings is available now and for cheap. im now looking forward to whatever else gets added to the catalog and im hoping that sony can convince more companies to add their games to the classics list
