Update []: As promised by NIS America last week, two Trails through Daybreak 2 demos are now available to download on PS5 and PS4.
The first demo covers the game's introduction, leading up to Chapter 1 of the main story. This should take most players a few hours to complete, and you can then transfer your progress to the full game when it launches on the 14th February.
The second demo lets you sample the Marchen Garten — a huge, procedurally generated dungeon. This demo's more about giving you a feel for Daybreak 2's combat system, as it provides two premade parties to experiment with.

Original Story: Publisher NIS America has announced its plans to release a playable demo for Trails through Daybreak 2 on both PS5 and PS4.
Dropping next week, on the 24th January, the demo sounds rather robust. You'll be able to play through the game's opening up until the start of Chapter 1 — which clocks in at a good few hours. You can then transfer your progress over to the full game, which releases on the 14th February.
The demo also features a look at the Marchen Garten — a randomised dungeon in Daybreak 2 that lets you build your own teams from the game's large character roster. However, your progress in this mode won't carry over, and you'll be limited to two pre-selected parties.
Are you looking forward to Trails through Daybreak 2? Will you give the demo a shot? Stay morally grey in the comments section below.

Unfortunately from those that I trust who have played this game already half of its practically unnecessary and it's just not a good game
@Drago201 I've heard very split opinions on Daybreak 2, but because it seems so divisive, I'm very interested in playing it for myself.
Love Falcom's demos! It'll probably be about 8 hours long. Can't wait.
Man, I'm falling behind on Trails. I haven't even finished Reverie yet. I'll buy it day 1 anyway because Falcom, but I'll have to skip the demo for now. Awesome!
Unfortunately i won't be playing this demo. I still need to catch up on 3 games. haha! I will get the game though.
I'll probably skip the demo since I'm playing through P3 Reload at the moment and I'm not totally sure I'll have it finished by then. Very much looking forward to Daybreak 2 though!
I'm already sold after Daybreak 1, don't need a demo.
@ShogunRok without spoilers itseems like there's no story progression for about half the game according to @the kiseki nut on YouTube
@Drago201 Yeah I've heard it's very character-centric, rather than plot-driven. That sounds quite interesting to me as long as there's enough gameplay quality to back it up. Maybe best to keep our expectations in check!
@ShogunRok a focus on the characters at least sounds good hopefully there's interesting things to learn and or do in the meantime
I still need to go back and finish cold steel 2, so it will be years until I'm caught up
"Are you looking forward to Trails through Daybreak 2? Will you give the demo a shot?"
Yes! and Absolutely hell yes!!
I'm just so happy that NISA is catching up on Trails localization and I honestly can't wait till Kai made its way to the west too!
FALCOM SUPREMACY!
Oh my god this releases in feb ofcourse. My poor wallet....
Glad there's a demo so we can all judge it for ourselves.
I will not bother with the demo because I will just play the game... eventually... after I finish Reverie and Daybreak 1.
I went back and checked achievements and I have apparently played 9.5 of these games in 18 months. I am too invested to stop at this point.
Forgot about this. Just starting it now!
Need to finish the first game first, I better crack on with that!
I am so ready for this!
Still feels surreal that we'll only be one game (Kai No Kiseki) behind after Daybreak 2 is released. Falcom have done a sublime job with the Western releases these past three years.
Probably won't play this demo or game, but with all the chaos in the video game industry, hopefully more developers/publishers will start releasing demos in order to help motivate potential customers to try their games.
Definitely going to check this one out
The framerate of the PS5 Battle demo is a mess. At best around 55fps and at worst below 48fps (VRR minimum)
The PS4 version of the Battle demo is almost a locked 60fps, a much better experience!
