Knew top spin would make its way over to plus eventually, will check that one out. Anyone who hasn’t played survivor yet is in for an absolute treat.
Damn! Bought that Star Wars game over the holidays. I thought it was AWESOME though. Miles better than the first.
Lost records?! A brand new game, and another great game. What’s going on, is Sony dying?
I'm sorry compared to gamepass ps plus is a joke
Lost records yikes
Will the second episode of Lost Records also be on plus?
I like how they seemed to really push games coming to PS Plus day 1 aka "the catalogue" but dang they really should've used some more interesting games.
Like Game Pass not only has Xbox games day one but also Persona games and other big third-party titles, wish I could use the good subscription service of Xbox on the good hardware of the PS5 Pro.
Well.....the selection is certainly smaller! Are more coming?
Full list is on the blog. The premium drop is a joke again this month. Happy to get Patapon 3, but there is only one extra game!
@DualWielding yes it will. They mentioned it on the blog post
Meh…
Jedi Survivor is on EA Play since last April. EA Play often offers £1 per month promotion quite often (I grabbed one last November and completed the game then). The game itself has been at -75% recently
Nothing too special but we're getting classic PS1 Armored Core games which is what I'm excited about
Only 7 games for extra and 2 games for premium. Happy to be getting another day one title but overall the quality and quantity of this service has plummeted since the price hike.
Starting off slow. Hopefully it picks up in spring 😅
They keep finding new lows to reach. Has to be the poorest selection since the relaunch. The numbers are declining rapidly, gone are the days where we were looking at almost 20 titles with extra and premium combined and the quality is also declining.
Jedi survivor is the only one noteworthy but all EA games can be played on their own subscription service for practically nothing when they do their yearly month long sub sale. Incredibly weak offering, makes you wonder why they bothered saving it for state of play, should have got that lineup announced at the usual time and then mask over it with the state of play.
Some great games this month, Star Wars and Lost Records are the ones I'm looking forward to trying the most.
That's really good. Survivor, Lost Records, Mordhau, all things I'm interested in playing
You can’t argue with getting Jedi Survivor tbh. It’s a very good game.
This list keeps getting shorter and shorter
Lost records! Holy cow! Read a few articles on this and gives off Yellow Jackets vibes, delighted this on premium this month. Honestly for me Plus never disappoints, love it.
Somerville and Jedi Survivor for me. Bit funny seeing people here saying Survivor is better than the first, but on HUKD there's people agreeing the first was far better and Survivor a bit lackluster.
Happy with Top Spin 2K25, it's one of those games that I was very interested in when it was new but not quite interested enough to pay full price for it.
I had a feeling if I held off long enough it would come to PS Plus in one tier or another
lost records is a Day 1 release on ps+
and jedi survivor good game played it for 99p on EAplay
Soliiid. Lost records for me.
Meh nothing here that's going to take me away from Avowed on my series x.
These releases are just making the choice to drop down to Essential much easier when my renewal comes around in April.
Does Tin Hearts include the VR version? Not sure why we have stopped getting VR games, that was a big plus for me!
Jedi is great and improves on the first and nice to get Lost Records.
I will give Jedi Survivor a go but not expecting much as I though the first game was pretty poor. Hopefully this will surprise me however.
I will like give Lost Records a go with it being included as it looked interesting but the idea of it being split instantly ruled out buying it and waiting. If its included in the sub however it makes it much more tempting.
I was really hoping for some new JRPGs to enjoy, since most of them already left PS+. SaGa frontiers remastered doesn't sound very appealing.
Now that's a good month!
Dropship? Serious question: does anyone actually want this? 🥴
@IceClimbersMain Fair enough, but people seem to forget that Gamepass costs £180 a year and has far fewer games in the catalogue.
There's a been a few releases in the last few months that makes it more palatable, but there were lots of times last year when there was hardly anything worthwhile added to that service.
I'm subbed to both so I dont miss out on anything, but I often felt PS plus was better value last year. As I say, some big releases since indy on GP, and some good titles to come, so it all evens out. But the comparison is definitely not as cut and dried as you suggest.
Hope you enjoy some titles anyway
@Titntin I'm pretty picky when it comes to the games I play, just because of how little free time I have. I don't really ever look at a game and go "I haven't bought this yet but now that it's free I'll play it" because if I wanted to play it, I'd have bought it already. That's why I prefer Xbox's more curated quality game list vs the quantity of Playstation. I just prefer the PS5 as a console, and I've got a Steam Deck oled so I buy my PC games on Steam.
But even just glancing at Game Pass' current lineup, there are so many new games on there that I've poured hours into on Steam. They got the new Ninja Gaiden 2 remake day one, Metal Slug Tactics day one, Persona 3 Reload day one (with DLC, which PS Plus never does), Octopath Traveler II, the new Doom coming up, and most of the Yakuza games instead of just two spinoffs. It's definitely a personal preference but these are all my type of games.
Maybe that's the downside to having a massive backlog but the only game I've actually beaten on PS Plus Premium was FF7 Remake Intergrade, FF7 Crisis Core would be on there too but I bought that game at launch 😅
@thechetearly
Same, sort of. I bought the original (PS5) at launch but wanted to play it again with trophies so I bought the PS4 version like 6-7 weeks ago. Oh well, I don't mind supporting them.
Thing I'm curious about is if the PS+ version will be downloadable on PS5. You CAN'T find it in the PSN store on PS5. I had to buy a physical copy. So I'm curious about that.
Somerville has been on my wish list perhaps now is time to get premium for a month at a discount.
@IceClimbersMain
Really? I guess we all make our choices, but PS plus is hardly shovelware:
GOW Rangorak, Atlas Fallen, SD Gundam Battle Allience, Sword Art Games, Remnant 2, Dead Island 2, Like a Dragon Ishin, Monster Hunter Rise, FF Crisis Core, Sonic Frontiers, Two point Campus, Dying Light 2, Rune Factory 4, Death Stranding, Life is Strange True Colours, Scarlet Nexus, Disco Elysium, Ys IX, The Surge 2, Lost Judgement etc etc are all games I've played and enjoyed on the service in the last year, and I'm not even including the 'big titles' like GOT or Returnal which I've already bought. For 60% of the price of GP, I still contend PS plus gamers have a decent deal and plenty to be happy about
Have a great day and enjoy your games..
@Titntin Yeah I mean it's all personal preference because none of those interest me other than Crisis Core, which I bought at launch lol.
@IceClimbersMain
Just pushing back against your "more curated quality game" comment which was obviously carefully picked to imply PS plus is quantity over quality which is very clearly not the case.
As stated, I'm subbed to both and at least 50% of the titles on both services are exactly the same.
lol.
Edit. None of those interest you? Did you not write on this very forum on 15th Jan 'Haven't played a GOW game but Ragnarok definitely looks interesting'
Are you just making stuff up now?
Lost records! I was gonna get it day one and now I won't have to. But will get it later if I love it.
Lol, of course I just bought Jedi Survivor this week
SaGa Frontier Remastered is what I'm excited about...I get that it might not be the best JRPG on PS1, but I never got to play it back when I had a PS1 so I'm going to try and get the platinum trophy.
@TrannosaurusBex Personally I thought Survivor's gameplay was streets ahead but Fallen Order's story was better. They're both great though.
Yay, managed to refund it. A level 4 stars account seemed to help speed things up, and somehow the refunded purchase still counts towards keeping my level next year?
The Star Wars game has been on game pass so don't think it will be any different on ps5. May have a gander at the others
@Dan12836666 Complete nonsense. GamePass is littered with shovelware. Meanwhile, PS Plus has a larger catalog of games and also has a quite large amount of PS exclusives not available on Xbox.
Somerville is a great game if you like stuff similar to Inside and Limbo. Not quite as good as those two... but imo was leaps and bounds better than the snooze-fest that was Planet of Lana. Coincidently, most places gave boring Planet of Lethargy a significantly higher rating than the superior Somerville.
@Almost_Ghostly might be littered with shoverware but ps plus doesnt get day one games all it gets are old games its not a great service now i love my playstation 5 just not ps plus thats just opinion everyone has different opinions
@Dan12836666 As a subscriber of both services, I respectfully disagree. Once I play one of those "Day 1" releases, there's nothing left but old games and shovelware until the next "Day 1" release. At 53 years old I have an extensive backlog of games to play dating back to the NES so a game being old has no bearing on me whatsoever. And I gather it doesn't matter to the majority either or we wouldn't hear people talk so much about backwards compatibility whenever a new console comes out. That said, for me personally, once those "Day 1" games have been played, PS Plus offers me a VERY large and significant amount of games to play in my backlog compared to Game Pass. As you stated, just opinions. Cheers.
@Almost_Ghostly the main thing is we enjoy gaming and thats the mist important of all peace out 😃
