Assassin's Creed Shadows’ 20th March release on PS5 is creeping ever closer, and to hold us over in the meantime, Ubisoft has released a new-gen features trailer that is, admittedly, primarily focused on PC. Still, all platforms will benefit from the features of its formidable Anvil Engine, which allows for impressive environmental destruction and dynamic weather effects that change with the passing seasons.
Shadows will tell the tale of two protagonists, the shinobi Naoe and the samurai Yasuke. Players won't be punished for playing favourites and can switch between the two as often or as little as they like. To achieve full immersion and to properly enter the world of Shadows, a prequel manga is in the works; it is unknown when it will make its way West.

I have not followed or know anything about the controversies surrounding this game. All i can say is the game looks great! And it might be the first AC game i pick up since the first few games on the 360. Still gonna wait for the reviews though
If the stealth is good, I'm in. I can't imagine it being better than GoT.
Finally, we get some new gen destructible environments which look less impressive than in the 18 year old Crysis.
That aside, this is actually looking pretty good and even as someone who has long since grown tired of Ubisoft open worlds, this is making me seriously considering playing it
In light of Ghost not getting anymore info, I think I’m about sold on Shadows now. Quite a nice trailer.

I'm looking forward to this. I've enjoyed all of Ubisoft's recent games. I wonder if the game will end up looking better than Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora.
I am looking forward to this game, Maybe day1 purchase for me
The comment about " not been punished for playing wither character" is partly wrong though....because there is some things each one of then can't do, for example, the eagle points Yaske just can't reach them...but nitpicking I can't wait to play this 😀
I realize this isn’t a super popular opinion amongst the regulars of this website, but I’m looking forward to this game. As a 42 year old man 10 and 2 year old boys, (a lot of energy) plus a wife that I adore; and that rely on my financial support, there isn’t a whole lot of time for my favorite hobby.
Point being:
I have plenty of IRL options (bumps, bruises, poop, etc…) to ruin my immersion. Sometimes an obvious map marker is a welcomed guide post.
As someone who's not a huge fan of the franchise I must say this is looking incredible. Think I'll give Ubisoft+ a 1 month trial to check it out.
This game will have an uphill battle after Onimusha dropped its trailer during State of Play.
I still hope Ubisoft will survive. More competition is always good for players.
Yves still gonna have to give me beaucoup money to play it
@Sarcasmatwork Thank you for your opinion. I tend to agree that since the readership here is presumably heavily skewed towards younger players, a prevalent opinion leans towards, "Play it on the hardest difficulty with no hand-holding for the best experience." However, sometimes having guidance, being able to turn off your brain and simply enjoy the game in short bursts is just what we need.
Finally something that I can escape into and take away my attention from these god awful news headlines.
I’ve not played AC since the first game. Hated it and never looked back. But I’m looking forward to this.
Playing as a ninja in feudal Japan. Yes please.
It really goes to show how far the PlayStation 5 is behind the last Generation when we're still calling new releases next gen when they are actually current gen
I won’t watch because I wanna play it fresh, but woo I can’t wait!
I preordered it!! Can’t wait! I think it is going to be awesome.
