The second PS Plus Essential drop of PS5, PS4 games for 2025 is now live across the UK and Europe, giving members access to another three titles. The line-up will be available in the USA later in the day, with the selection looking like this:
- PAYDAY 3 (PS5) | Review
- High on Life (PS5, PS4)
- Pac-Man World Re-Pac (PS5, PS4) | Review
Unlike the more expensive PS Plus Extra and PS Plus Premium tiers, as long as you redeem the three games above to your account, you can access and play them for as long as you maintain an active subscription.
As is the Push Square tradition, we asked readers what they thought of the February 2025 lineup in a Poll over the past weekend. And, as is also basically tradition, most users voted to say "it's a crap selection", with the most negative option garnering 47 per cent of 2,800+ responses. Of those who are somewhat excited for the games, it's High on Life people are excited to play most.
For those keeping tabs, the next PS Plus Essential lineup, for March 2025, will be confirmed on 26th February 2025. Are you holding out hope next month's titles will be better? Let us know in the comments below.

I‘d rather get one great game than three mediocre (or bad) ones.
Excited for Re-Pac!
Pay Day 3 trying to keep it alive I assume? It gotten better has it?
Either way understandable why it's here for such an audience.
Pacman Re Pac lol. I swear I question if I want physical, go eh at the physical code boxes (as I wanted the physical and price to go down then Namco said nah and the game stores I go to have only code boxes left it's so annoying, it's so disgusting).
I at least got Klonoa physical and cart but Pacman World Re Pac nope. Sigh
I hate companies doing that.
I barely see PS4 copies anymore and go for Switch but for things like this it's why I go nah.
Also it is a pain in the butt to type whether hyphen or not. It is so annoying. I typed Pacman, Pac-Man sometimes World, sometimes Re Pac, Re-pac, the PlayStation store search algorithm sucks. I even sometimes get the PlayStation search not store search even though I set it to store. It's so stupid. I see unrelated things sigh.
Turned on my console from what I was doing just to solve this as the website is awful. Even if the console store app is not any better.
Why is hyphen under Shift/L2? but not additional symbols? Why Sony?
Or just go eh fine buy it digital. I don't know. So seeing this with that question is funny to me. Still a good game for families or those interested.
Oh discount/deal is over. Eh code in a box as cheaper and I get the box I guess. I can't be bothered looking for a cart/disk.
Or I could you know Namco emulate the original and give you no money that works too.
I don't do PS+ so to me I'm going other methods. I missed the Switch discount so will go PS discount instead. Missed that too, eh. Will work it out.
It's no Astro Bot but it's a fair remake of a PS1 game.
Then again I wish Now Productions would make another Practical Intelligence Quotient or some other puzzle game like it. Sigh I miss those. Hate they aren't on the PSN Vita store. Got 1 physical for PSP, 2 emued.
High on Life is fair I guess as well.
Nice, excited for High on Life and PacMan RePak, ideal PSPlus games imo, bitesize, little niche.
PayDay 3 seems like SuicideSquad, an empty bag of an online game
Will definitely give Pac Man a try
Finally, I've been waiting the entire weekend for this
@SuntannedDuck2 this was a painful read
High on Life for me, Re-pac for my sons...decent selection in my opinion
@Boucho11 Bro woke up and chose to yap...
High on Life although the dialogue is major cringe.
Pay Day 3 is just the Devs begging Sony to put it on plus so it can claw back some players for the die hard fans to have friends to play with they all either quit or went back to Pay Day 2 which they screwed up as well with MTs
Will give High on Life a go but WHO KNOWS WHEN!
@Oram77 hahahah yes
Both High on Life & Pay Day 3 already been on Xbox so that's two losses right out the gate .
I enjoyed High on Life for what it's worth but don't see a point in playing it again on a different platform. Pay Day 3 yeah nope.
The Pac Man game is something I haven't played and that's not going to change either.
So all in all a dud month for my PS5.
They’re literally giving us 3 good games, and yet people just complain. I hate this hobby. We got the Stanley Parable last month, an actual modern classic, and they still complained. They could give us God of War: Ragnarok next month, and people would still say “mid selection, I already own it”
@Darkri74345 Sorry for not being excited for stuff I already played or have no interest in. Just because something is labeled a classic that doesn't automatically mean everyone will like it or have an interest in it
If you are enjoying the offerings great and I hope you have fun but other folks are free to come to their own conclusions based on their own criteria (and you are free to continue to disagree.)
Pac man world repac and high on life for me.im definitely downloading pac man world repac.word up son
Seems like the PS Plus is where the live service and other failures come to die. Coming up next month: Skull and Bones, Concord, and Funko Fusion.
@Darkri74345 I typically hate the constant negativity emanating from the internet, but previously we used to get AAA games somewhat regularly. After raising the price of subscription, the quality of the games has gone down. The only one of the games this month that might have interested me is Pac-man, but I have played dozens of Pac-man iterations over the years and I am over it now (Been playing it since the arcade in the 80s). Payday looks as generic as they come, and High on Life looks mediocre at best. They need to do better.
@Darkri74345 "good" is subjective. You may like this selection, but that doesn't mean others have to, and there is nothing wrong with either stance.
People have opinions and they want to share those opinions, it's in our nature. If you feel that the bias is negative, maybe you're more sensitive to negative opinions? There are an abundance of positive comments in this thread, why not focus on those opinions?
I have zero interest in Payday. I gave the first couple of levels of RePac a shot and found it flat and boring. The first 30 minutes of High On Life were entertaining enough, so I guess I'll see where that goes. It's time for Plus to have an absolute banger month because it's been a while.
@Boucho11 How? Can someone not have thoughts, whether of games that are understandable why they are here on PS+ or a game I've considered multiple ways and haven't yet.
I have to say something jokingly or profound, and read the minds of all the types of people saying oh these sucks and some how fit that narrative I wasn't in on the joke/mentality of? Humanity is weird.
Then again says a lot about the commenters in this article/on this site. Sigh people. We have our thoughts/opinions, can be whatever they want, you don't have to read them, you can scroll past, it's free to do so, you have eyes/a scroll finger.
I don't see people saying what games they'd rather prefer on PS+ (understand they won't cycle again or be cheap enough yet) making good ideas for making games better just say 'oh these suck' yeah what feedback/worthy response customers/players. They can't read our minds to make better games. They don't read these sites anyways. They don't offer better games/licenses because companies are picky and only few put them on PS+.
Then again I ignore the biggest games of the years because I've got plenty of niche, average or AA to play then mechanically boring games to play with eh worlds and a lot of visual presentation I find boring, so we each have our games we prefer. XD
I knew what Pacman was going in I research PS1 games/niche games, average games, etc., better to play more interesting mechanics and level design then modern game slop, the others I don't know as much about (why should I anyway) and are probably eh or good to those audiences. I'm not those audiences so I say they are probably fine to have an open mind something some people seem to not have? Or trash without saying it that harshly.
I understand that not every month can be winners, as there are only so many games for the system, but it grinds my gears that they take games off of plus and then put this stuff on there
@SuntannedDuck2 it’s the wall of text and blethering nonsense. I didn’t bother to read this one as it was putting my to sleep
Pathetic games I mean this is a really bad list high on life is ok but thats it
@SuntannedDuck2 Brother, why do you feel the need to make your comments one big speech?
@GilgaMax309 Because i have thoughts, I type a lot, add or not to a conversation, (don't care whether it does or not) your willing to watch a video that's a 20 minute essays right? Just not in written form? Ok maybe I do but still. If it's convincing enough that is.
Hate small talk. I write wikis/read a lot because I don't mind doing so/have conversations longer than text message because I have the attention span for it. In a short way of saying things. Would rather say something (not gossip) then say nothing/get emotional stimulation to my brain. XD
We are on a news/articles platform correct? So there is going to be reading of the news or comment correct? I also break them up into paragraphs so it's easier to read/skip so I know where it starts/ends, so people can go through whichever, not just 1 clump and leave it at that. As if the username/edit comment parts aren't clear between comment spaces.
People have their short/large posts, elaborate on it, respond to others in the comments, have feedback, etc.
You can read any post, I don't care if mine are filled with nothing, it's still thoughts and like reading and picking out details for school work people can to comment on it.
I don't think what I say is great either, it's not. People all have valid points to make on this platform or in this comment section.
How about I post like 5+ different posts ok, so it doesn't look so overwhelming. Sigh. Ok made it to 3 instead.
Scroll past social media quickly, it's called opening up a conversation then a twitter brain response/text message or as simple as a 'sup', sup response to people. XD
People read posts, but not books? How much are they reading full paragraphs without realising of small posts? Exactly.
As if generations don't struggle to talk to people as it is. XD
You do realise long comment posts are people adding on to the conversation not saying, oh this is good/sucks, and ending it there. Some of us want to say more. Are deeply interested in the topic.
I could cut a lot from my post yes. I know a lot is unnecessary in there but even still. Our experiences still matter sometimes and we can use them as such. I posted my thoughts on a Wii U external hard drive experience on reddit, not just said, yes that's great drive/cables, I don't know or left it. The extra can help sometimes.
@GilgaMax309
Part 2
As if like talking about a hobby only interested in the news/scenario/details further.
But maybe it's because I have conversations with people about topics like a discussion and am just used to that. I learn things, think and understand things better. Get different perspectives.
I come up with theories and feedback for video games/business side stuff. Not go oh this sucks/this is good and not know why or care and history repeats so we get brain dead products.
Understand why we have boring games on this service, it's called licensing. What percentage of people know what licensing is?
Some may drift off and I know when to cut it off there IRL, other times I'd like it to continue till all possibilities are presented on the topic. I can do so online as well I just choose not to.
I don't like small talk so why would I do the same on an article/forum and say nothing at all? XD There is a character limit. I'm going to use it. Not just for URLs to other websites but to points to make/thoughts to have. I type/talk for info/interest, not emotional stimulation to my brain.
If YT has a far larger character limit and PS/their comment sections for news/forums have less that's fine but if it has a limit of say 1000 characters why would I not use it if that's what's on my mind instead of 3 smaller ones. Having is easier it's for 'me' as a user, not me taking up 3+ spaces and people going wait is that related to this even besides the username directed to responses.
How does someone have a debate by saying a single paragraph that's short?
Part 3:
If an essay in video form is say 20 minutes and has enough structure to it, why can't a comment make points towards the topic of the article? Its not a transcript it's a response. Can no one have responses?
People can use their time wisely, others do by having a response back and forth and it ends up long about that topic, not 'that was great', yeah what feedback.
If I was doing a tutorial, I'd have to say you can do this and this and this and link them, that makes the response large correct? Saying 'eh do this, get out of here' or eh this video will solve it (if it does) or 'that's good' is useless. I'd want to help them with that tutorial if it was unclear. Right? Not everything can be exampled with visual evidence.
Since when did articles or forums become twitter post platforms? For people with low attention spans. If you skip articles that are long why read the comments then? Sure people's thoughts but I mean some are going to be long. The character limits allow for a lot to be said for a reason. They aren't 100 characters long are they?
If you want to scroll you can. You don't have to read it, not everything I say is worthwhile anyways. I know that.
You can't always have an intelligent conversation with a text message.
Or want to go yes lets have 10+ messages to do so. Sometimes you got to have a big one. I am not paying per responses on this website, so if I'm not and it's not a text message and it's people's attention spans, why would I cater to them, there are 100s of other comments to read and skip mine...... I'm not going to be offended if people skip mine I'm totally ok with it. I read as much as I want of others comments and move on.
If you don't want to read it that's totally fine (and aren't going to read every comment anyways), why does it matter? Pick and choose what you want to read. It's that simple.
Hey I did it in 3 parts, how about that.
@Boucho11 That's fine.
