1998 sensation Cowboy Bebop, widely regarded to be one of the greatest animes of all time, has now infiltrated the world of Fortnite.
Available in the Item Shop right now, you can purchase packs including protagonists Spike Spiegel and Faye Valentine. The characters cost 1,500 V-Bucks apiece, or you can pick up a big bundle which features them both and a bunch of other items for 3,400 V-Bucks.
Among those additional cosmetics is an emote inspired by the opening of the show, with a jukebox playing the theme song Tank. That’s a really nice touch!
Of course, this isn’t the first time a live service game has included a Cowboy Bebop crossover: Overwatch 2 added Spike and crew first, featuring them as part of an event in March last year.
Will you be picking up any of these classic characters and adding them to your locker? Let us know in the comments section below.

One of my all time favourites with one of my least of all time. What will this change? Neither fact.
Fortnite is #1 and Cowboy Bebop sucks 🫠
This makes me sad 😔
(sigh) Is nothing sacred? 😑
I feel like those that are old enough to have watched BeBop are typically out of the age range of people that play Fortnite.
@Hapless I doubt they know Cowboy Bebop or other classic anime like Ghost in the Shell, Akira, Ninja Scroll, etc etc.
Seeing some unwarranted hate in these comments thrown at Fortnite and its players for doing a cool collab. Very sad times for the gaming community. Do y'all play the game or just hate to hate? The jukebox emote is sick, grabbed that this morning. Let the people who like the game have their fun!
@PuppetMaster Cowboy Bebop is probably my favourite show of all time. It's not limited to the category of anime! 😁
@TheDudeKenobi I think it's more a deep disdain for the constant need for "meta universes" in games. It's a cheap move whoever does it and it's a little bizarre when the themes don't match at all. Nothing wrong with someone playing Fortnite but I really don't like it myself (or the meta stuff) 👍
@TheDudeKenobi Do you need something to be universally praised in order to enjoy it? Let people not like the things they don't like!
Total disgrace to the source material. Like Spike could afford a whole Pizza...
Anyway, they really want me to play Fortnite, don't they? Super surprising. And very nice to see Cowboy Bebop still being in the cultural consciousness. Give me a proper game ASAP.
I never expected Cowboy Bebop in Fortnite, but Fortnite is a crossover machine, so anything is possible.
@Kingy No, I'm able to enjoy content regardless of what other people think if it hits for me. I just think the constant negativity in gaming spaces when something that's pretty inoffensive drops is unwarranted. In this instance, it seemed like some people in the comments were throwing shade with no real reason other than it's because it's in Fortnite.
@Loamy That's a fair take, and I def agree it often comes across as cheap if the content is lacking in some way or just dropped out of nowhere. Even this Cowboy Bebop collab feels out of left field, but hey it's neat enough to warrant some interest. It's definitely getting a bit crazy with every game seemingly trying to do collabs and crossovers constantly, oversaturating the market. For me, Fortnite is just a dumb game to play with friends after work, and if there's a cool new skin or song to grab that will add to the enjoyment then I'm into it. I don't really care about the themes of what's currently happening in the game if the content on offer appeals to my preferences.
No, not like this 😭
Poor Cowboy Bebop!
@Kingy People need to just calmly let people know of their opinions. We don't need to fight or argue or just spread unwarranted hate. We should play what we like and be happy.
Just because cowboy bebop is in fortnite does not mean the game or anime is trash. If you don't like it don't buy/play.
I rather they put money into a Cowboy Bebop game instead of it getting sold out to ppl who don't care for it.
@TheDudeKenobi
Well it's plenty warranted to the people who dislike the thing,
and the choice is yours to engage with dissenting opinions on a topic. But "let people enjoy things" essentially just means "I don't want you to voice that opinion unless it aligns with mine".
@beltmenot Or what? Are you going to call the reaction police? People can't control what they don't like, and you don't get to decide if their feelings for something are warranted or not.
@Kingy You must really not like Fortnite my guy
@TheDudeKenobi Not really no. I'm not opposed to crossovers, but I don't like how Fortnite does it where iconic characters are just plastered over the player avatar and don't retain any of their characteristics.
Game itself is fine though, I wasn't really into it but I didn't hate what I played way back. I replied to your comment because I think the whole 'evil negative gamers' narrative that's been going around the last year or so is really bad.
@Kingy That's honestly a fair criticism of the game's content and how it presents its crossovers. As much as I might enjoy a new character skin coming to the game, it can feel rather hollow if they don't have any pomp and circumstance, or if their representation and inclusion stand in direct opposition to the way they are in their source material. Sometimes the crossovers are out of place, or ugly, and they can be a real letdown due to the lack of polish. I wasn't trying to imply people disliking something is inherently negative or a bad thing either. If anything negativity towards a project can push a game or a dev team in a positive direction to make changes people want to see. I was more so making a general statement that the criticism being thrown in the direction of this crossover just because it's happening in Fortnite seemed a bit redundant, and maybe a little toxic coming from people who already aren't and wouldn't be interested in what happens in this game otherwise. I appreciate people love Cowboy Bebop and hold it near and dear, which is why I'm surprised the reception to it getting some spotlight in a popular title would carry a negative connotation with its fans simply because it's in something they don't personally enjoy. Again I appreciate that it may not be well represented in their view, however, it's not like the few comments before my initial post were all that detailed and thought out anyway, so it just came across as people knocking a game and it's player base because something they love got put into something they dislike. Throwing shade by saying things like a majority of the player base isn't old enough to even know about Cowboy Bebop is pretty telling of the energy they're bringing to the table.
@TheDudeKenobi I get it, it can be annoying when someone is flippant about something they don't even really engage with. But if someone doesn't like seeing Spike in Fortnite where else would they voice that other than the announcement of Spike coming to Fortnite, y'know?
Hey, at least Spike actually uses a gun in his source material. Not like seeing Spider-Man blast people with an assault rifle lol
@Kingy I just wish people would not argue over everything and be told their opinion is wrong. That's all
