Max Payne PS5

As open about its development efforts and future pipeline as ever, Remedy has announced its Max Payne 1 + 2 Remake project has now entered "full production". The update is sourced from its latest financial statement to investors, where it confirmed it's making "steady progress" as it works alongside Rockstar Games towards "key development objectives".

Elsewhere, it's revealed other Remedy projects like FBC: Firebreak are also in "full production" and a successful closed technical test was held in December where the team tested matchmaking and back-end services. A co-op spin-off of Control, the game will release in 2025 and comes to PS Plus Extra on day one.

As for the franchise's mainline follow-up Control 2, it has also recently entered full production. "The project has verified the velocity of asset creation, established production pipelines, and is ready for scaling up for production," Remedy said.

There's also some welcome news for Alan Wake 2 fans, as the Finnish developer has confirmed the game has now sold over two million units and is now generating royalties for the studio. "Remedy has started to accrue royalties from the game sales towards the end of Q4 2024," it confirmed.
