Palworld developer Pocketpair has closed its office today, allowing staff to enjoy Monster Hunter Wilds in peace.
The studio’s official X (or Twitter) account shared a memo which was sent to employees ahead of 28th February, joking that a number of staff already planned to take a sick day.
“Regarding 28th February, we have received a series of mysterious reports from many employees that they may feel unwell tomorrow, so the company has decided to introduce a special holiday,” it reads, as spotted by Automaton.
While it doesn’t explicitly mention Capcom’s new release, it doesn’t really take a genius to determine why it’s created this additional day off.
Monster Hunter Wilds is already off to an exceptional start, closing on one million concurrent players on Steam within hours. If you, like Pocketpair, are enjoying a “special holiday” this Friday, you may want to take a little look at our Monster Hunter Wilds guide.

Maybe Bioware devs should take a paid week off to play Witcher 4 when it drops
So they are doing what japan does Everytime a new Dragon Quest game comes out
That's pretty cool! Very considerate and it definitely boosts employee morale.
I wish my job would do the same.
I wonder if my boss will give me the day off when Atomfall releases? It is set in the UK after all but I have more chance of getting my P45 to be honest
That’s actually a nice move from Pocket Pair wonder how long they’ll give staff off to enjoy MH
Just wait until GTA 6 gets released, I think 1/3 of the world will be having a sick day.
@Splat same here. My place of work wouldn't shut if a hydrogen bomb went off in our car park.
@Oram77 I'd rather keep my time off for something important.
Gta 6 is going to break records of employees calling in Absent to work when it launches lol
@Lowdefal Mine is for when Ubisoft finally gives me Beyond Good and Evil 2 (cope)
PocketPair seems like an awesome company to work for
Brilliant, and very well written.
