Alongside today's new Astro Bot speedrun level, Team Asobi has also updated its PS5 pack-in title Astro's Playroom. A new patch lets you get a PS5 Pro from the gacha machine along with the PS5 Pulse Elite Headset and Pulse Explore Earbuds. It can be seen in the Twitter video below along with the new PS5 boot-up wallpaper for the game, captured by Radec:
When you return to the main hub area of Astro's Playroom, the gigantic PS5 Pro will be displayed next to the base PS5, with a little Astro Bot perched on top. If you wish to return to Astro's Playroom and claim the PS5 Pro, refer to our Astro's Playroom guide as we have kept our coverage all up to date in case you missed any of the post-launch content that was made available in the lead-up to Astro Bot.

Finally, a real reason to buy the PS5 Pro.
My kids been to that gacha machine a few times recently, only to find it empty. This updates gonna make one person happy atleast
That new wallpaper and menu icon is 👌👌👌
Astro bot is without a doubt the mascot PlayStation always deserved.
I always thought they missed a big trick here, and should have had Astro bot (the game) reveal the look of the Pro at the end of the game - via some sort of super power up for the mothership.
Hahaha
There's a gacha machine in Astro Bot.... Somehow I feel like that is a jab towards those stupidly greedy games out there.
@EfYI Perhaps... or perhaps it's a nod to the gacha games whose 30% of a ridiculous amount of money will be helping to bankroll a LOT of PlayStation games like Astro Bot. Sony makes an insane amount of money from these games which can go back in PlayStation
The PS5 Digital Edition is still not in Astro's Playroom for some reason.
Nothing wrong with the old cover art, but sure why not. It's really the Astro Bot cover that needs updating from the boring text logo to the key art in the Library.
And I can't have been the only one that misread the article title as PS5 Pro support added to Astro's Playroom? 😆
@Topov81 Pro Support was added with the update last week
@Cerny That was Astro Bot, not Astro's Playroom.
No new trophies?
@Steel76 firstly this hasn't added PSSR support, just a ps5 pro to add to the collection of consoles in the main hub and after actually playing the other astrobot on my pro after it's patch unless you watched the Digtal foundry video (which your clearly getting your opinion from) you wouldnt of noticed anything bar a sharper image 🤦 those guys have made a new breed of fanboy and it's the pixel peeping kind 🤢
@Froggydarren
I have been watching DF reviews for a long time now, and still find their framerate analysis to be a god send as anything much less than locked 60fps makes me feel ill - literally.
However, I have been very disappointed in their increasingly silly take on PSSR. At this point its starting to feel almost like an agenda.
I have never seen any of the so called 'issues' they keep talking about while playing - all I see is a generally better, more detailed image quality, that often far surpasses other upscalers. The difference is often smaller when standing still, and far greater when moving.
In one recent analysis of a game they compared PSSR to the DLSS upscale on PC - they even said that DLSS did not look as good as PSSR when in motion, though better when stood still, but still declared DLSS to be hands down the winner - not sure how they play games, but I tend to be moving quite a lot.
I took a look at Astro bot after the patch and its easily a clear improvement, with no visible downsides. Not as big an improvement as some games, but nice nonetheless.
(NB im ignoring those half dozen games that had poor implementation early on, as that was just early teething troubles on a few titles from dev teams with poor quality control.)
@theSpectre
There a few things still missing if I remember right. The three biggest for me are the PSX (DVR), the Playstation TV, and the re-designed PS4 camera. I also find it weird that they included all of the major PS3 revisions but didn't do the same for the PSP.
